Any surefire way to gauge authenticity?

Nothing odd about made in Turkey. It's right across the Med from Italy and the labor is cheaper there. Turkish-Italian trade has been going on for thousands of years so that doesn't surprise me at all. The price is right on line for the designer brand for a pre-owned suit. The second button...

The LBSC and the LBCC are two different organizations. I don't know anything about the LBSC except that I was there for a couple of Ducks Unlimited meetings and got thoroughly turned off by DU. I won't go of on a rant and I don't blame the LBSC for any group that just uses their facilities...

    Falcon Park Hattery

Don't I ever! I'm on a strict budget until at least January, I think. The best I can hope for is a couple of new dress shirts. With luck I'll have them MTM but I sure would like a new hat (and a bespoke suit and a handful of 16" square silk pocket squares and a couple of cotton neckerchiefs...

New Vintage 3 Piece Suit: Looking for Feedback

I'm with CptJeff. The trouser hems should have a bare break in front and come down to the tops of the heels in back. Fine looking suit, though. Now there may be a 'period' way to dress but it were me, I would let that go hang. Get yourself some bespoke or MTM shirts in a number of colors...

The Long Beach Casting Club was established in 1925 and has hosted the likes of Lee Wulf and Zane Grey. We have our own clubhouse in Recreation Park in Long Beach with our own practice pool out in front. In the fall we host a rod-building class, through the winter fly-tying, in the spring...

    Apache Dance on youtube.

The Apaches (pronounced, I believe Ah-pahtch) were the street gang thugs of Paris a in the Gilded Age. Naturally, they were romanticized just like the hip-hop thugs of our own day have been. Sheesh!

    Classic Safari vehicles!

That's great! I'd seen the car mentioned in a couple of other websites but never with detailed photos of its 'complete equipment'. I'm interested in the 'hand cranked machine gun.' According to federal and California law, a hand-cranked weapon is not a machine gun and is therefore perfectly...

How much cloth is required to make a suit?

Oh the Egg Yolk, no question in my mind. The Sunshine is a summer color, suitable for Hawai'i or the Caribbean. The Golden is better but the Egg Yolk is best.

    Double-brim adventure hats

Art, have you got any pictures of the 'Bwana Hat' you made? The OP on that thread hasn't posted in a couple of years and his pictures of it have fallen off the 'Net.

    Classic Safari vehicles!

We were in Harare National Park sitting at a water hole feeding the greedy little hornbills and looking with trepidation at some truly huge crocodiles when a UniMog very similar to that Lander drove up and parked next to us. The chap driving said that they had put it on a ship in . . . Homburg...

    Double-brim adventure hats

A theory which works perfectly in the case of the tent-and-fly where there is a distinct space between the two allowing for breeze. In the case of the felt hat where the two layers are in contact . . . rubbish! But you knew that. ;)
