Maybe but it certainly doesn't look like those that followed. You can see that it is from the teens with that short gorge and the enclosure. I would love to see a picture of a person actually wearing one from the period. Interesting darts on the back as well.

Yeah, that was popular with 'sporty' jackets back then, and throughout the 'teens.

Roughly how likely is it to actually be raw silk? I'd have thought pretty unlikely, but then I wouldn't profess to be an expert. Anyone?

The back is constructed very much like a frock coat from the 1890s that I have---in the sense that it tapers in to the waist.
