Oh yes! Ballistically there have been no practical advances since 1920. The newer cartridges make more noise, kick more and send out a ge-normous muzzle flash but don't kill any deader than the old ones. I love my .318, my 6.5x55, my .375 and my .404.- Oldsarge

It's finally raining in Texas? Heaven be praised! My favorite deer ranch has drinkers every quarter mile over the entire place so their fawn production has been normal but it's good to hear that things may at last be returning to normal.- Oldsarge

With careful packing, I was able to get the entire buff, boned and packaged, into the freezer in the garage. And I got the buck in, too. Some 300+ lbs of meat, for gawd's sake. I didn't cape out the critter, just sent them to the packing plant for skinning, cutting and boning. The skulls...- Oldsarge

I was hoping someone would return to this subject. The last Women in Mens Hats thread was wonderful and great fun. However, it was starting to push the limit for a family-friendly site so let's keep at least reasonably calm this time, guys. We'd hate to have it shut down again. -

I would rather wear my Cabela's Archers' hat out when hunting instead of a tasteless but legal blaze orange ball cap. Does anyone know where one can get a blaze hat band? I've seen then in the past but cannot find any references to them now. A 2" grosgrain ribbon in blaze orange would be just... -

I'm embarrassed to admit it but since I've spent the last week in Wyoming on a hunting trip, I'm afraid the hat I've been wearing was this: -

I have just returned from a plains game hunt where my eyes were worn out by inferior optics.
