Peacoat
Many thanks for posting this. This information will prove invaluable to all those looking to acquire a vintage peacoat but who, like me, are confused by the sizing issues. Great stuff!

Very nice Highwayman Jimmer. Body and sleeve length are perfect. I see you are only wearing a tee shirt under it and the straps are let out fully, which is probably why it feels loose to you. I would cinch the straps in, to get the right fit around the waist and try it with a sweater - I think...
Seb - It all depends on what hide you have chosen and what you want wear under it. My 40" heavy FQ horse Highwayman is perfect with a shirt or light sweater but with a thicker wool sweater it's tight. I am probably a similar build - 36" waist, 40" chest. I don't like baggy jackets so it is...
Results of the little experiment are in!
Two heavy front quarter leather samples placed in the freezer overnight, one dry and one completely soaked through. On taking them out they both felt quite stiff as you would expect. Sharp creases were put in both samples but they showed no evidence...
I think Will was talking about a wet jacket freezing not a dry one. I'm not prepared to put my Highwayman to the test, but in the interests of an experiment, I have some heavy horse samples that I can put in the freezer overnight. I will try one wet sample and one dry one and will report back...
Heavy horse hide and freezing temperatures - NO!!!
Seriously, I had a long talk with Will at Aero when ordering my Highwayman and the only thing he stressed when talking of leather care was "do not leave you jacket in your car overnight if the temperature was due to drop below freezing"...
Great looking Cheyenne. It's good to see some close up pictures of Aero's lighter weight hide. It's quite a spec though, how long did you have to wait once it was ordered?

That is a great looking, well broken in, LHB James. I have been looking for a longer jacket for the winter, to compliment my Highwayman, but wasn't sure about the trimmer 'waisted' look of the LHB. Yours looks perfect - is that because you don't cinch the sides in much? The cuffs are a nice...
Perfect fit and I love the even color of the hide. The lining looks like the Grant, suits the jacket very well. Should look really awesome when it's broken in.
Many congrats and enjoy!

Hi Lenny, thanks for the heads up. I'm staying well away from sticky tape from now on! I don't mind general wear and tear on my Highwayman, but I would hate to see a perfect square of brown color pulled off

Great looking Highwayman and a good fit too. I like the idea of an interior leather panel.
My Highwayman will be coming out again at the end of the week, as our weather is about to turn colder. That's one bonus when you own a good leather jacket, you don't mind the onset of the autumn...
Got to say, I really really like this jacket! I don't think I have seen the style mentioned on the Aero site, where did you hear about it?
Great Jacket, congratulations!
Cheers
Very nice jacket, I really like the style and the color and the fit is spot on too. If it can't stand up by itself, straight out of the box, then it should break in pretty quickly.
Many congratulations on another great Aero - enjoy!
Cheers
Just logged on and saw these great pics.
Superb photos of original jackets, really enjoyed having a close look. Many thanks for posting them.
Cheers

Great looking coat Southern, love the nice even color of the hide. Interesting to see the grain showing right out of the box, my Highwayman took quite a bit of wear before this grain began to show. The fit looks spot on too. Many congrats on a superb looking Areo - enjoy!
