Great looking Highwayman libby, nice even colour and a perfect fit too. It probably feels like a suitcase now but just wait till it breaks in. Mine is now only one week old and is already nice and soft. Good choice - enjoy!
Google searching quality leather jackets, found a photo of James Bond wearing an Aero Highwayman. Googled Aero jackets which brought me to this wonderful site and a few months down the road to my own Aero leather :)
Thanks for the great pics HD. Superb looking jacket and a perfect fit too. Love the look of the broken in Highwayman also, will be interesting to see the Bootlegger after the same process. Congratulations on another great Aero!
Great stuff blethook, thanks for that. Never thought of asking for a standard jacket to try on - great idea, I might ask Amanda to see what she says. My Highwayman is a 40" and is a perfect fit with just a shirt under it, so I suspect an A2 might need to be a 42". Thanks again.
Cheers
Thanks CBI - I will have a look at Eastman but I had such a good experience dealing with Aero, for my Highwayman, I might find it hard to go elsewhere. Goodwear look fantastic but the prices are scary.
Cheers
Thanks for the information gentlemen.
blethook - Now I'm confused, it sounds like it's a real gamble with the sizing. Probably best to have a chat with Amanda first if I decide to order one.
HD - From someone who owns both the Aero Highwayman and A2 styles, could I ask if you would...
With some A2's having the reputation of being uncomfortable to wear (tight arms etc.) I was just wondering which of Aero's A2 designs would make a good 'every day' jacket.
If my wife is reading this, this is purely a hypothetical question ;)
scottyrocks and avedwards - I didn't realize 1/2" could make such a difference. Looks like I might have to travel down to London to try some on as can't seem to find any hat shops anywhere near me.
I really like the style of this hat and it's suits you perfectly. I think I have more of a long face than round, so something along these lines might do very well.
My hat size is 59cm, which I think equates to a USA size 7 3/8". Any idea where I might find something like this?
Hello avedwards - Good to hear from a UK fedora wearer. I have to admit, apart from the odd old guy in a trilby I have yet to see a fedora being worn in my town - strange how a hat style that was so common at one time could disappear so completely. The Stetson Chatham looks promising - did...
Hello Wil - Many thanks for great link. Looking at it, I guess I have quite a long face so my results from that website are probably as follows:
"Look for a hat that shortens the appearance of your face.
Crown: Shorter height. Avoid crowns that are square, full, or too high.
Taper...
Good evening gentlemen. I think I have probably held this moment off long enough! After a long time drooling over the wonderful photos here, I realize that I am strangely being drawn to the idea of owning a fedora. Whether I would actually have the nerve to wear it out of doors is another...
