As I see it
Avirex are to my knowledge:
A: low-end of repro jacket territory
B: not, as claimed by this guy, official US Airforce wear, therefore most likely not worn in Top Gun if the costume dept were being accurate, and...
C: the blood chit is a WW2 era adornment, Flying Tigers to be...
I can't help myself lol lol the more I see of this kind of thing, the more amazed I get, some people will try anything, the blood chit is the clincher.

some hope
I did read somewhere that the rampant ;) sales of Viagra in China were having an effect on the survival of rare wildlife, due to the fact that it was a lot cheaper to buy a pill than than the roasted or dried organs of some poor bloody bear or something clinging to survival in the...
clarify
That was the final shot, but all the stuff before that where they break out in the truck, the Odessa steps pastiche etc....that was all his imagination.
yep
Original ending as I saw in the cinema here the first week of release: she's dead, and he goes insane under torture, and his mind escapes into the dreams that he has throughout the film.
ends well
It's worth mentioning that the original title of Brazil was 1984+1/2, but George Orwell's estate wasn't happy about it so it was changed at the last moment, and according to Gilliam the title has no relevance at all to the story.
hard to say
I can't think of another one, Brazil is a masterpiece, especially with the CORRECT ORIGINAL ending, others such as Sky Captain have some visual cues from it, but your direct question has me stumped.
last but not least
I think he really did the best work of his life in THE HARDER THEY FALL, and an honourable mention to THE ENFORCER as well, a good little movie.

Fact and Fiction in Film
In the case of:
ENEMY AT THE GATES
(Saving Private Ivan?)
There is a trend in big-budget films made with US money in Europe. It involves the depiction of various socio-cultural and language groups...
Bomb doubt

past it
I recommend Barbara Tuchman's "A Distant Mirror", which is a look at the 14th Century in Europe when plague killed 2/3 of the population etc, it makes an interesting point about the juvenile and stupid actions of people possibly due to the fact that anyone over 30 was considered a...
nice
At a time when every clip that goes around the internet seems to involve some idiot falling off a bike or setting themselves on fire, that was a welcome change...jolly good.
the pen
I was a rock journalist in the 80's and have a few examples of my Noir fiction (both period and contemporary)published, an example is on another thread here.
fine by me
Actually I would have loved it if they'd done the Mexico stuff, but I enjoyed the movie as a whole...I'd put it on about a par with Mulholland Falls, which didn't get good reviews but worked for me.
Now that I have sold all but a few of the first edition of my NOIR novel and it looks like no-one is going to pick up the rest in the series I thought I might post the first three chapters here for viewing by anyone who might be interested
