Wherever part of Germany this leather came from its really well made. I hope to see a brown version of this full aniline leather. The added topcoat is mostly gone on the right sleeve and it makes the grain pop out.
Got it, that looks a sustainable and environmentally aware process they are...
Yes, it's not too long of a wait considering the current times.
No problem and thank you as well. Is Blattwerk the name of the tannery? I really do like it especially the grainy parts of the hide. It's really good to wear, it's light and comfortable.
Thank you. Hope you get your perfecto JL soon and tame that bad boy as well.
Yes it's coming along nicely. Thanks
Yep, they should reopen in 2 weeks so it's not too long now.
I think the zippers looks okay with a type 3 jacket (@Monitor has a cool motorcycle trucker jacket with buttons and a subtle zipper placement) but the design you are going for looks more of a leather shirt so it might look a little out of place
Thanks JustiN! The water did wonders on it. Also just FYI all JL orders will be delayed so unfortunately we won't get our jackets soon
Thank you! I try to wear it as much as I can so it's developing quite quickly. Love your new acquisition btw
That was my first thought as well, it might be...
Yep! That jacket looks like something you would wear! Congrats finally getting one of these, the wait was worth it. I think you can pull off anything, the hat included.
Maaaaan that is an Incredible fit! Love the color and the details, the zipper sleeves, the yoke and half belt at the back is just wonderfully designed and made. Congrats on getting what seems to be a perfect fit. How about a black one too!?
Update on the Masaye Leather (olive tanned HH from Germany)
The sheen is starting to wear off on some areas and it's not as water repellent anymore. The creasing and folds are getting more pronounced and it's molding more to my physique after getting wet
Thanks Seb! Always liked the bootlegger but Im happy I went with no chest pocket and I think I picked the most appropriate hide for the look I wanted to achieve. This jacket is being trimmed and getting a tan mouton collar at Johnson Leather right now so it should look even better when I get it...
Looks suspect to me, looks like low arm holes and the use of recycled leather for backing is probably Is not something I would expect from a Japanese maker
Looks good, great job by 5* using a hide that they are not familiar with. Hope the elbow/upper arms will stretch with wear. I'm sure the next cxl project will be improved upon on the next attempts.
