The placement of the label isn't where it is normally found on vintage ties. That font is very early 70s-looking, too.

    1957-1965 (or 1963)

When I try my hardest to think of my earliest childhood memory it's always Huntley and Brinkley reporting the day of JFK's assassination.

    UGLY TIE CONTEST: $500 PRIZE

Well, this dude has another title under his belt. A local store was having an ugly contest this weekend (you can always find someone having one around Fathers Day). It got me twenty-five bucks! :D He is dear and true to my heart, though....;) [/IMG]

[article] Age appropriate dress for men.

I wear shorts a lot in this warm weather. I walk a dog and I bike quite a bit. You just won't catch me wearing pleated shorts, though. There's just something too effeminate about those....

A couple of Goodwill finds yesterday...early 60s and late 50s. Goat head(?) and horse head. There were other narrow ones, but these were the best. [huh] [/IMG]

I recently came across the story of 'razzle dazzle' paint schemes on WWI ships. Colorful, modernistic shapes and patterns that were designed to confuse the German U-Boats at that time. I dug a few ties out with similar patterns (although these are way post-WWI). [/IMG]

Which decade is the worst in terms of style?

I'm kidding... :D It sure is fun to look back on that era, though. The one in the blue jumpsuit looks like Lisa Kudrow, but she'd be 11 then...

Which decade is the worst in terms of style?

I've been going over some early 70s clothing catalogs in recent days and I must admit there were some very cute styles for women....not for men, of course.

Which decade is the worst in terms of style?

I always like to tell the story of how I fell in love with vintage neckties. I was working as a photographer for a small Iowa daily newspaper. On some days my assignments ranging from rural/agriculture to corporate office shots. One day I had assignment at the country club following shortly...

    central A/C

I just hate it when the temp. hits 75 degrees for the first time of the year and I see drivers with all their windows shut and their A/C on. It sort of affects my body going in and out of central-aired buildings on 90+ degree days. It just hits you like a wall when you step outside after a...

Razzle Dazzle camouflage on war ships

Knowing this now I realize I have quite a few vintage neckties with similar designs (40s). I'll start referring to them as 'razzle dazzle.' ;) I'll make some photos of them soon.

Razzle Dazzle camouflage on war ships

I have just recently discovered this piece of history of U.S. war ships painted with modern art design schemes to confuse enemy submarines. Although mainly WWI, it did have some limited use during WWII. If I had a large yaught I'd certainly give it one of these paint designs...:rolleyes...
