I like to remain anon on the FL so I won't here. But I was wearing a SWATCH! And a really ugly two-toned puffy vest! And my hair, oh boy! As in tomboy short! Yikes.
Too nice compared to what or whom?
When all I see on contemporary TV is vulgarity, gratuitous violence, letting it all hang out, mean-spirited cat fight reality shows, etc, I welcome "too nice."
If I had the space and means, I'd decorate a room like a set on LW. I love watching it Saturday nights on PBS. I know it's campy but gosh I can't help but smile! I love when the camera shows the older audience couples dancing, looking happy as can be. The "Wunnerful Women" have a wholesome...
The truth is that if you are down and out you can eat many "free" things. Like grubs. I wouldn't do it, but when my husband was in the USMC he ate some pretty icky things!
I mean the type of person, male or female, who aspired to do nothing other than loaf, meander, or did the minimal to get by. They can come from old money, royalty or the ghetto. I think of beach combers, Bowery Bums in suits, mooches, mamas boys and so on.
