I've posted a few threads on this subject and I hope I'm not wearing out my welcome. Anyway I'm finally 99 and 44/100% sure of what I want (a Zip-sleeve Highwayman) but the one dilemma I have left reqards the skin. I think I know what both are like because I have a "competition" Vanson...
Well that certainly answers my question. I'll definitely be calling you guys in about a week. (And BTW, this board has been a fantastic resource for me. Thanks to all.)
I'm not a pest and I'm not complaining one bit. I was just wondering how all this negotiating takes place: incremental emails or what? I don't usually even think about calling Scotland or know how much it costs, but it just sounded like people were genuinely communicating at a level beyond...
I see on threads about people talking to Amanda and others at Aero, hashing out details of orders, etc. Obviously a lot of communication is occuring and I was wondering is this by phone or email or how? I've asked a few preliminary questions via email and, while the answers were prompt, there...
I was noodling around on YouTube and came across "Amos 'n Andy," a show I used to watch all the time when I was kid, and experienced a shock of recognition when I noticed the jacket he always wore was an A2. Not exactly "military fit," but all the characters on that show were scufflin'...
I'm thinking very seriously of a Lost Worlds Rigger as an addition to my biking trousseau. I think it would be great for those times when I don't want to be wearing a biker jacket when I get where I'm going. The lack of zip-up sleeves doesn't bother me because I have other stuff to wear when...
May I ask if that jacket follows your normal "chest measurement plus four inches" rule? It seems trimmer. I'm about to order something and I keep going back and forth on sizing.
I'm 5'9", about 150 and my chest measures 38". I'm torn between ordering a 38 and a 40. I'm looking for a "military fit" where I can't wear a sweater underneath (maybe a light vest). I'm pretty sure that the 40 will be too large, but I'm afraid the 38 will be too small and especially that the...
I can't speak to whether the labels are genuine or an attempt to deceive, but I do know that on ebay descriptions can be very loose and creative. I've found many leather jackets of numerous different styles described as a "Perfecto" or as an A2. To somebody, the term Aero could be very generic.
I personally am not looking for any V-shape or worried about whether it billows a bit above the bottom knit. I'm just looking for general overall trimness. I already have a roomy A2 I got on ebay. It's an unused Gibson and Barnes Civil A2 in size 40. It's too big, but it was only $129 and it...
I'm glad I don't have all these issues. Now that I've gotten rid of my pot belly, I'm back to my usual "off the rack" dimensions. I don't have a big this and a small that. I'm like a 1940's recruit (in one respect anyway): generally slim. I'm hoping a BK house 38 (new post-September sizing)...
Thanks for this post which was especially informative to me. I too have slimmed down recently and am now down to "high school weight" territory. I want this jacket to fit tighter than yours and be the dreaded "fashion statement" which shows off my new bod. The only reason I post all this is...
I'm just about ready to order a house A2 from Bill Kelso. I sent them an email with a few questions and just want to bounce something they said off whomever loungers care to reply. I already have three leather jackets that are big enough for layering and really do want a trim fit: something...
If the word is that they're up and running, that changes everything. I was going to order from them but was dissuaded by postings here. They seemed to imply that he was going out of business or similar.
If I did go with them and get a BK house jacket in seal brown with rust knits, what color...
I'm thinking very seriously about ordering a USAAF A2 in seal brown horsehide with rust knits, so:
1)What are the lining upgrades to which they refer? I'm not into authenticity as much as just having a nice jacket that works.
2) You can just order through their website, but should I avail...
