Usually straight and level for me.
Most people would say that tilted back is "happy go lucky" or at least "open", right? If I tilt it back my wife says I look menacing or mean. But she's not from around here, so maybe that plays into it.
A better course, at least to me, is lead by example. A respected leader is emulated.
Telling others what they "should" do seldom actually works. In fact, that's the course that leads to at least attempting to make "rules" to enforce that idea of what others "should" do and is doomed to...
Just to be contrary I'll take a different position.
Business buildings are built to conduct business. If there's any artistry at all it's about impressing prospective customers. Once the original business determines that business would be better in a possibly newer and/or larger building...
Seems so "Urban Cowboy". :p
Truthfully, I think a couple of warm afternoons and a few dozen rounds through a black powder pistol, a little dust and you'd be hard pressed not to have the look. For real.
I'll probably leave it as is since my original plan was to use it as a fishing hat. I haven't worn it enough yet to have a feel for whether it might pill or not. But since you brought it up I've looked more closely at the felt and you could be right. It's not a dense felt, a little coarse and...

It ends when we're all fed up with this type of planned obsolescence and just don't buy into the next format.
For me, there are Netflix streaming devices now where I can call up a movie when I want it, watch it on my tv, and then move on without having to take up the shelf space for something I...
We don't do gifts except to the grandchildren. Avoids all that awkwardness.
Besides, at this stage of the game we're more interested in getting rid of 40 years of accumulated stuff than adding to it.
Young people wearing fedoras contributes if it means decent fedoras at reasonable prices are widely available again. Since I wouldn't be caught dead in a plaid stingy brim, if that's what comes out of this current trend then it's irrelevant to me and hardly a revitalization.
As far as hat...
Was clean shaven from labor Day until a couple of weeks ago. After the novelty wore off the reality of shaving every day reasserted itself. Beard's back.
