These are so cool, i have been wanting one since i first saw "12 Monkeys" as a teenager, unfortunately i doubt it would ever get cold enough for me to get to wear one where i live, they look like they woudl be even warmer than a B-3 and that's already too much for me...
Just thought of doing a before/after comparison.
Top pic is brand new out of the box, bottom pic is after nearly a month of daily wear and around 2500km ridden on the bike with the jacket:
And now the one i have been wearing every day for the past two week, i have ridden just under 2500km in miserable weather in it during that time and it has performed really well.
It's not as waterproof as the regular horse hide is, but it's not as bad as some veg tan jackets i have.
After 2 or 3...
Took some quick fit pics of @Monitor's old Speed Demon for another member, really a sweet jacket, different leather from what Stu currently uses, not as soft as the current batch, a bit more shine, and a grey core similar to the Freewheelers Rude Black. It's super comfortable and I'm glad to...
I would leave it as it is if you intend to sell the jacket on.
From what i have seen you won't make any money from changin the lining and trying to sell it relined, if anything you will be lucky to break even.
Keep the fabric for a jacket you want to use.
They don't really describe what it is, just that they haev reproduced it...
Only mention of grain break i can find is regarding shoes, and people over there go crazy when they see things that we would find completely normal on a leather jacket.
They want shoes to stay smooth and as soon as they...
I'm not saying "genuine leather" means it is junk, just that if the leather was indeed veg tanned it would most likely not have a "genuine leather" tag.
That would be the equivalent of putting a "red wine" label on a bottle of St Emilion Grand Cru...
The label says "genuine leather" which is as low grade as you can get whilst still being called leather.
I doubt any maker would use veg tan leather and stick a "genuine leather" tag on it, it doesn't make any sens.
But then any leather will take patina with time, patina is just dirt...
Allow me to assist your sale, every time i have posted fit pics of this model in the past it has sold fast.
I only take a 10% cut if it sells...
This is me (6'2" 180lb) in a M, great jacket:
I own almost 60 leather jackets, all of them move when i lift my arms.
From reading this thread it looks to me that you are very impatient and have extremely high expectations, whilst at the same time not knowing what you want or what is involved into getting a well fitting jacket.
IMO that's a...
Filthy scammers...
A month ago i saw a vanson CHP2 for sale that was using the pics from my review.
I think it was just a scam website as it was down a couple days after i noticed it.
I have had the same experience since Constantine left.
When he still worked there i woudl get same day answers, since he left i have sent three or four emails, none where answered. I don't think i'll order a custom Vanson again with the way their CS has gone.
