Welcome to the lounge. Congratulations on a great looking jacket - a nice vintage fit too. If it's from the same hide as my Ventura you will find it will relax and break in very quickly - the beauty of the design though is that the jacket will never look baggy. You mention it was a new...
Great looking A2! In the first pic, with it unzipped, the length looks fine. I agree with the jeans issue though - get some with a higher rise and post another pic, I think it will look different again. An A2 that's too long just doesn't look right.
Evening all! Midlands born and bred, right on the Staffs/Derbyshire border. Usually hang out in the Outerwear section ( got a thing for leather jackets) but wandered over to the Observation bar to see the posts on the new site upgrade. Great to see so many Brits here.
Cheers!
Just wanted to add my thanks to all who give their time to maintain this wonderful site. The new look was quite a shock, but I'm getting used to it. The only small issue I have is with the bright orange text on black - the lower case is fine but the bold and capital letters are almost jumping...
Yes, it's exactly 3 months old today! It was pliable straight out the box, but after just a couple of weeks of wearing it around the house in the evenings it really softened and began to drape. It's not as thick and heavy as Aero's heavy horse but it has a real quality feel to it.
Looking...
1087 - You have me intrigued! What ever it is you will not be disappointed. My Ventura has now broken in a treat and it's become my 'go to' jacket. The hide John uses and the quality of his workmanship is top quality. Can't wait to see your design!
Mr Peacoat - Would really like to see...
Great looking half-belt Jack, the action back is a very nice feature. It must have been exiting creating your own unique design and then waiting to see the final result. The style suits you really well and the fit is spot on - you must be very pleased. Congratulations and enjoy!
Cheers
Betty - Just be happy it wasn't a Mariner or Longshoreman - those seafaring types :whistling
Gancho - Great story line and wonderful new Aero. The collar and slim sleeves really give it that period look. Perfect fit too. Enjoy!
I would keep an eye on ebay - I've seen some nice vintage horsehide halfbelts go for reasonable money. You should be able pick up a bargain, as the smaller sizes don't attract the same amount of bidders as the 40" and above.
That's a great fit - really looks the business! Would love to see it again when it's has had some wear - just interested to see how goat breaks in compared to horse. Enjoy!
Great jacket! Looks made to measure to me. Even if the sleeves do feel a bit short when riding, I wouldn't let the jacket go - as a casual jackets fit it's spot on. Great find, Enjoy!
There is definitely an autumnal nip in the air now and I did spot a few leather jackets being worn around town at the weekend. Have been wearing my Goodwear Ventura, just to break it in of course, but it needs to get a good bit colder before the heavy horse Highwayman comes out.
Some...
Thanks for the photos - I can look at leather jackets all day long, I don't care who made them.
The Suburban is right up my street - love the style and color and the fit is spot on. Would love to see again when it's broken in a bit. Enjoy!
Cheers
