    Military 'woolly pully' sweaters

And I have just got home out of the wet and donned my Peat Brown crew neck WP!

Let me know what Pete says and whether you get the sweater.

    Sou'west Chunkies Sweaters

I’m fond of Navy Blue as well (see my other posts on military sweaters and Guernseys). He will do other colours to order if you ask him. He’s not confined to the colours on the website.

Both of those very good, as is Navy Blue. I also have a sort of Chocolate Brown Gansey and have had a Bottle Green Chunky in the past.

Black. I like it a lot and I think I shall get the Army Green next time.

    Sou'west Chunkies Sweaters

I think they’d do a more fitted look if you asked for it. I had a ‘Gansey’ sweater from them some years ago that was more fitted than my black ‘Chunky’, which is enormous!

    Military 'woolly pully' sweaters

In another thread I said that I had used OKW's recent discount to buy a Welbeck WP. In fact, I changed my mind at the last minute and chose a black '1945' WP. It's one of their new versions, modelled on the original WW2 and 1950s prototype of the Woolly Pully. I'm wearing it at the moment as I...

    White RAF Roll Neck Sweaters

This 'backside' discussion also arose in the thread aboutGuernsey sweaters. My submariner (from Silverman's) is a long sweater and does come down over my backside. The same is true, to a lesser extent, with my Guernseys, and with one of the OKW variants of the military Woolly Pully - the one...

    Military 'woolly pully' sweaters

... And now, today, it’s a Navy WP! I’m enjoying this cool interlude.

And fortunately this evening it is cool enough for a Black WP (Royal Tank Regt)

For me it’s Army this morning!

    Guernsey jumper

We might have touched on this in passing before, but a question for fans of this sweater: when did you get your first Guernsey? I have been wearing them since the age of nine. My first was the standard Navy, of course. I was thrilled with it because of the military associations and because it...

    Cricket sweaters

Agree. I was looking through a few old threads today when I should have been working!

    White RAF Roll Neck Sweaters

I have the Heather Mix with shoulder and elbow patches - like almost all my WPs. However I do have in my collection the Army, Navy and Black Welbecks without the patches (and so nearer some original WW2 versions) and the Heather Mix completes the collection. I wear them from time to time but...

The GREAT BRITISH DUFFEL COAT thread

I'm afraid I've been drawing a blank on the Duffel/Duffle spelling difference, except to say that as a general rule 'Duffle' is applied to bags, 'Duffel' to coats (the design and material of the coat seem to originate in Brabant, which is now part of Belgium). 'Duffle' is also a variant spelling...

    Sou'west Chunkies Sweaters

It’s ages since I wore my Sou’ Chunky sweater. I pretty much live in military Woolly Pullies or Guernseys during the cooler months but my black Chunky made by Pete has been neglected for some time. Oddly O dreamed about wearing it the other night - a sign that I should do so this winter! It’s...

    Cricket sweaters

I wasn't all that interested in Cricket at school but liked wearing the jumpers. I played it once or twice for the House. Rugby I played throughout my time at school for House and sometimes school teams. Today it's raining so heavily that a Cricket game would definitely be rained off. That...
