But you are posting in a thread about an iconic thin ribbon model = Campdraft/Open Road...so expect opinions to lean toward negative of changing from that standard...

Had old Stetson with same fading that had nothing to do with a wider hatband. Fading seemed related to sweatband. Outside of re-dying felt, covering up with a WAR is the option....
Put it in a plastic trash bag with crumpled newspapers for 2-3 days, sealed up tight.
If that doesn't work, get some talcum powder, coat the hat very well, rub in gently with finger tips, brush off....HTH

Best to take it to open crown then to your desired crease. Best results I've had is with a hatshaper.
I've also sent out hats to "refurbishers" & asked to be sent back in open crown state.
They have equipment that I don't & really get those pressed in factory creases out.

Alpaca is warm. I only wear my 50s HB on colder days & it is prickly. I'm having it replaced with a lightweight tartan wool so I can wear it a bit warmer & layer when colder.
Send it to a hatter to reblock just a size up. I have 2 vintage Stetson that are 7 1/2 LO & I am a good 7 5/8 LO.
Anything more & you'll loose brim width or crown height....
From what I have experienced, the Strats have a definitive flange difference to the ORs. I've got Royal & Royal Deluxe Strats plus varying brim widths. Compared to the Royal, Royal Deluxe, 3X, & Twenty-five OR I have or have had with varying brim widths, the Strats are flanged with more cupping...
