    Leather shrinks when water evaporates taking the oils in its pores with it. Just using water to re-saturate isn't going to replenish those needed oils. Leather conditioner does that.

    When shaping an open crown hat, I slip a paper clip over the band ribbon & line it up with my nose in a mirror so I can make sure I align the pinch up with my face. Yep, most of us are off-center in more ways than one....

    Guessing a hat size if someone only knows the inside diameter?

    Stretching wonks out the brim flanging but usually acceptable for just 1 size or less. After that, it looks to out of shape. Reblocking to go up sizes typically eats brim width....
