Yea I think I panicked a bit when the last couple hats I was watching had their bidding jump significantly in the final couple minutes. I just kept thinking to myself that theres know way a hat this awesome isn't going to have some fierce bidding.
Do you guys think that this hat should also go in the pre-1940's Stetsons thread? It apparently still has the receipt showing it sold in November of 1940.
Either way i'm pretty excited I won this one. I was worried that the bidding might begin to skyrocket when the auction time reached...

For less than $35 shipped. Looks like its in excellent condition.
Very unfortunately I will be sending this one back for a return. This brown bowler is merely an impostor. A very faded black bowler is what was sent to me. Oh well, at least my dilemma of whether or not to keep it has been promptly solved.
Lovely Bruder.
If that Cavanagh was a 7 1/8 I'd be all over it. Looks like its in perfect condition.
Didn't expect to win this, I thought someone was going to swoop in and act on the very fair BIN price before my offer was accepted.
Tiny little vented brown bowler. I saw this one at the last minute and didnt see the already answered question regarding the inside measurements. Oh well, i'm torn between selling it and sending to my little nephew and ensuring he'll be the best hatted second grader in his school.
Royal Stetson Vitafelt, which I sold but found its way back after the buyer opened a case on ebay claiming that the tagged 7 1/8 hat fit like a 6 3/4.
I decided to keep it rather than go through the hassle of relisting it. It is a nice little homburg.
Could have been worse, the last Superman movie that was almost made featured a mulleted Nic Cage.
To be fair, these movies are directly addressing the glaringly obvious question of just what type of psychological disorder must a person be suffering from to don a costume, pretend to be someone...
Thanks, the seller says the brim binding and ribbon have a dark purple tinge to them as well which makes me a bit happier. I had a another Knox Homburg that was a really awesome shade of purple but I ended up giving it to my tattoo artist as a tip because it was a bit too large on me, but i...
It's just one strategy for trying to maximize profits, whether it works is still up for debate. Theres even the chance that just the right person who comes along who's willing to pay whatever price the seller has in mind.
On the upside from a buyers perspective, it can't be fun to sit on...
Fantastic blondie velour. The perfek felt from Joshbru is just amazing, Great couple of hats there.
Got my first velour today and i couldn't be happier. Its even better condition than I could have hoped. Looks like a brand new hat.
You're thinking about it all wrong.
Lets say its a Knox Premier Whippet clone. Normally he would lucky to get around $100. (And i've seen some recent ones in excellent condition sell for less.)
But if he prices it at $300 knowing full well that its worth around a third of that and someone...
Thanks, I was bummed this one was a bit too small for me. If it doesnt sell soon I might just send it to a hatter and get it stretched a bit. It's one of the only hats i've gotten off ebay that was this mint.
