Finding the correct angle for the blade isn't difficult at all. As already mentioned, pay attention to sound of the blade as is cuts the whiskers and the feel of the blade across the skin - once you've felt it, you will know. I'd be very surprised if you didn't have down by the second shave :)
That's a great setup Dave, you should get superb results with that lot. I wouldn't bank on it being less expensive though, it might seem so initially but once you get the DE shaving bug, just watch that collection grow :) Enjoy!

Really sorry to hear of a 6 month backlog, I was ready to place an order myself but I can see now it would only add to the problem. Looks like I'm back to searching ebay for a used one :-(
Great pics guys. I've always like the thought of heavy selvedge denim, but the stories of how uncomfortable they are and how it takes ages to stretch them out etc. has stopped me taking the plunge. Question: just how comfortable are they? I'd hate to spend big money and not enjoy wearing them.
