Great looking half belt. Looks a bit longer in the body than a standard 38", did you have any added. Also, interested in your opinion of the vintage brown compared to the standard brown FQHH.
Wondering where the name Alexander came from? Looks like it's Sandy Alexander, founder of the Scottish footwear retailer Schuh. Interesting!

Never heard of new horsehide having a stench! I loved the smell of my heavy horse Highwayman when it first came in the house - wonder if they use a different tanning method for the Tumbled hide?
Looking forward to the pics!
I think it's worth trying lots of jackets styles on, you will know yourself what suits you and what doesn't - go with you're initial feeling! It's when you *try* to make a jacket suit you that things go wrong - I'm still trying to *like* jackets I bought that I know I should really let go :)
I've got jackets in both the heavy front quarter and the medium weight horse and the two hides could not be more different. Medium weight horse has a spray painted look to the finish, nothing like the waxy, translucent look of the heavy front quarter. If you can stand a hefty jacket, I would...
Seeing a few sale jackets made from a 'Tumbled Front Quarter Horsehide'. It's looks nice, but doesn't seem to have the waxy finish of the standard brown heavy front quarter horse. Just wondered if anyone had seen this hide or a sample of it...
Ha ha, that's ok 'nice hat', I'm a big boy, I could take it :) Funny how the appearance of a moustache can cause such strong reactions though. I had mates just laugh saying "get that thing off your face" and yet others thought it was ok and I should keep it. I guess it's because the...
Grew my very first moustache ever this month for Movember. It's 32 days old now but just can't bring myself to get rid of it after all the hard work and grief I've had to put up with. Not sure if I should just keep growing it or get the razor out.
Really difficult to tell, even from the close up shots of the grain - maybe the wrinkles on the collar, but what do I know. Easy to see how steer has been passed off as horse for so long without detection from customers.
The sad thing is, with all these jacket re-makes, the 6 month waiting...
You won't be disappointed with an Aero, the quality of the hide and the workmanship is as good as it gets. If you've never experienced heavy front quarter horse, you might be a little shocked when it first arrives. These jackets do stand up on their own, and the weight and stiffness can feel...
