Those tongue protectors are loose. One chooses whether or not to add them to the lacing. I never do. Boy do I have a lot of those things in a drawer

Not a bad jacket, but that kind of wool item just isn't milled like they used to be, and the wool doesn't seem as nice. My opinion.
The funny thing about that is some repro makers do intentionally copy features they know are flaws. Chapman told me
he does this, for full accuracy. In other words, he takes original jackets apart and copies them as he finds them, even
if he thinks something he's seeing is a mistake.
Why would anyone want a perfect leather jacket? The whole point is that it is a natural material and therefore irregular,
and that it changes in a variety of unpredictable ways when it wears.
That said, the zipper on my ~5 year old Aero Hercules is beginning to fail. Disappointing.
