Anthony, I only own two vintage Resistols. The SA I'm wearing today and a 50s wide brimmed fedora. They really are very comfortable hats. Not sure if the Melorol or not, but the dress fedora especially feels like it floats and grips my head. Plus, the felt is top quality. I'm interested in hearing a Full Report after you've given it the once over.

the first thing I noticed aside from the comfort is that the felt is absolutely awesome ...

I love buying a hat that turns out to be way better than you had expected

Thanks, guys. I've long been reading the rest of you talk about the Fed IV. Now I can say I agree with the chorus. It really is a quality hat -- a great style, great construction and a fantastic price. I heartily recommend it.

Except that I'm concerned that your Fed IV is actually bringing on the bad weather. It knows it will get more head time.

I edited this post to add some better shots on my lunch break. This is "The Polar" by Adam.

I'm having a difficult time capturing the color of the felt. The first shot is the most accurate. It captures the green. Depending on lighting, the hat can appear khakier.

I tried to find ads for it on the internets to try to nail down its age. No luck. Although, it looks like Adam was selling "hats of the month" during the forties and early fifties. Those that I have seen were all named "The 'something'" I can see this being offered as a late fall or winter Hat of the Month. Likewise, the material and labels lead my gut to think that this is from that period. Anyone have any ideas?

I Had Bond put a new ribbon on it. The original, wide one was a mess.

Groovy, fuzzy hat with nice thick felt and what I think is a nifty brim treatment.
