I was captivated by the interview. It's unfortunate that the current owner's father is no longer available to relate events going back to the 1920s. Not that the current situation in the hat business isn't fascinating.
oldfox if you're looking for a wristwatch with the stem or crown on the left side of the watch, try Panerai or U-Boat. There are others as well but these come to mind off the top of my head. Rather than targeting left-handed people who prefer to wear their watches on their right wrist, those...
And let's not forget about skin cancer concerns, in as much as heat & sunshine generally go hand in hand. The recommendation for protection against exposure is a minimum brim width of 3 inches or 7.5 cm.
Certainly a fur felt hat will block the sunlight, I'm not sure about the effectiveness...
I'm looking for a black cherry, pity that your's is 2 sizes too small for me:

I've often wondered whether a wet ribbon leaches a bit of the dye from the hat body itself, resulting in discoloration at that spot notwithstanding the use of distilled water.
I've proceeded on occasion to wet the entire ribbon so that the whole thing dries the same albeit slightly different shade. Personally a slightly different shade doesn't bother me, just so long as the entire ribbon is the same so that I just don't notice anything.
Hi Jaoa, I need a snowblower hat with a 5 inch brim & black hats look really great on me ~ and as luck would have it, my size is 7-5/8.
Are you interested in selling this hat to me?
It will have a good home in Canada!
The Stetson premiere Stetsonian is "supposed to" have a 6-1/2" crown as per the Del Monico site:
http://www.delmonicohatter.com/product/STSNAN.htm
I measured mine from the kitchen counter top, to the highest point of the popped open crown.
I'm pretty sure that the Beau Chapeau Strats were the pre-Premiere version. I bought my silverbelly from them @ $199 CDN well before the Premieres came out. Indeed the Strat currently shown on their website appears to be the same as that which I ordered back in February 2013.
I wonder whether...
I was wondering the same thing. The device would be far more flexible if the hook rotated e.g. it could be placed over the back of one's chair in a restaurant.
Henry the Hatter's site lists these hats but doesn't indicate relevant dimensions. So I unboxed mine to measure it & I just realized that I was mistaken when I said that the hat was Canadian Biltmore production, it's actually tagged MADE IN USA so presumably haled out of the relocated Texas...
You might be interested in a Biltmore offered by Detroit's Henry the Hatter called the "Giorio Cellini Capone":

It comes in white as shown or else in black. I have the white version, these are very nice...
If the concern is with sweatband "puckering" then I too would appreciate receiving guidance in terms of getting rid of those annoyingly uncomfortable inboard protuberances
