yessss. love this. The colors and shades of brown are nuts. I think this is where my CXL sheene is headed. Just need to lose about 5 lbs so it fits better LOL and can get it to keep evolving.
this thing is sweet. I'm probably more of a 42 otherwise it would have been tempting. And if it was brown, I think I would have tried anyway. Saw that photo you posted @Marc of your brown original one and that looks killer.
btw, seller here is totally reliable. I bought my Ridley from him...
Here's a couple shots of the Sheene development and why I love it, but would love more if it was just a little bit bigger LOL.
this was maybe 1-2 months in:
And this one about 6 months in. Keep in mind, I've got a lot of jackets, so they don't get a lot of wears. But on this one I did do...
Yeah, all CXL not created equal. The brown Sheene one is the most rigid, but I've noticed big changes the past few months so hoping it keeps getting softer, and color wise has the most variation and razzle/dazzle and best creasing so far. A few years of wears on this thing and it'll be the...
Excellent info these past few posts. I too felt there was something off with the shoulder seams. I thought it might have been a tension issue with how much "pull" they used when sewing and maybe that's what explained why some have and some dont. But the tucking in vs tucking over makes total...
I remember one being for sale here not too long ago. There's also the Allen Edmonds collab which I think is basically the p213 but maybe with different lining or some subtle difference.
Schott vs Aero, pros and cons, you'd really have to go jacket by jacket and leather by leather. Most Schotts are in the 800-1100 range. Most Aeros are in the 1000-1300 range.
What's nice about Schott is it's pretty easy to find at a cheaper price and Ebay is full of ones that were worn twice...
so freaking epic. what makes it even more so is that don't you live in NOLA??? LOL. Every time I think I'm nuts buying all these jackets living in Los Angeles, I come to ease thinking about you living in a built up swamp pretty much LOL. And I say that affectionately. I used to live on...
excellent. so you're locked? me too. I'm guessing maybe 2 weeks. Whatever, it's fine. My bday isnt until Jan so most likely I'll buy another bday jacket by then LOL :cool:
what's cool is that in this latest episode of keeping up with Joneses, we've all gotten different models and/or...
On paper at least, my 402 will fit pretty close to my vanson commando cxl. Except 3cm shorter in length and about 4cm narrower in shoulder. Body and body taper is almost the same. I'm totally happy with that especially since itll be sheep and have a little more give than cxl.
If I get...
Fine tuning some measurements with Rip this morning. So what it boils down to is LL is going to have a V shape from chest to bottom hem. It's part of their look. That sort of "pinch" I was talking about in the waist is not possible. Also the hem and waist work together obviously to maintain...
yeah, was going to say, you really cleaned that sucker up. There's so many jackets I just like looking at. I don't think I could pull off this look, but I can still appreciate it.
If you want an honest opinion, way too big. Sleeves are long by a good 2 inches. Definitely off a size or two in chest and body. Length seems long too but I'm not a peacoat guy. And shoulders are too wide.
I'm not too familiar with LW sizing but every time something has caught my eye, it...
Yes. I think I'm like 1 day ahead of you LOL. You'll get an email next day or two with a "calculation" of what they think the jacket measurements should be. I'm currently cross checking a couple jackets but their recommendations are really super close. The stock 42 for the 402 model at least...
My philosophy, if you're not hurting anyone, including yourself, then go for it. Life is short and can be shortened at any moment. Enjoy.
From a practical sense though, it does get gluttonous. I have over 20 jackets living in Los Angeles. They get wears but I really have to force it. I'm...
