    I don't understand the expectation to conform to those sorts of rules surrounding fashion/style. If you want to wear it closed, wear it closed. If you want to wear it open, wear it open. They look good either way.

    Maybe not as big as you, but close. I'm 6'2" 235#. Size 46 Vanson Comet PLU-3 with two shirts, a sweater and a North Face Windstopper vest layered underneath. I think it looks ok.

    Have you tried a PLU-3 on? I typically wear a size 44, yet required a size 46 in the Vanson PLU-3.
