For some reason, I am now really thinking that a lighter colored hat might work. Dont know that it would go with suits all that much, but tooling around Memphis in April and May, 60's to mid 70's, would be cool.
Ok, I am going the custom route for next hat. I see that some hatters only have beaver and that the price for that is around $300 or so, maybe $350 for VS? I also see Buckaroo has some at $205 and then Parker has some at $150.
Want to compare apples with apples, so what sort of felt and...
Curious if anyone does the same felt that parker does. His hats start at 150. I see some at buckaroo are 205. Same felt? Or am I going short if I don't go up to beaver and they all seem to be 300 to 350
What attributes does your ideal hat have?
Some of you men have had custom hats done. Some prefer wider brims, others prefer a more western approach.
So in deciding what to have done, what attributes do it for you as far as YOUR ULTIMATE hat?
For me, I think a fedora, not something with a...
Ill post a picture but got a Bailey Barr hat in dark grey, after much dithering, from Delmonico Hatters. 2" brim seems to suit me best, and the price was $82 (from $100) and free shipping and was not available locally. I think this will go in between my Caribou colored Stetson Saxon (for...
Two inch brim on the brown one? I might be interested in a 2 inch brown one. Let me know if the other guy falls through or he wants just two and you could sell me the brown perhaps or he may PM me.
Silverbelly I dont think works for me, but if someone has a silverbelly with some sweater, post it, let me visualize it. I have the caribou in Stetson's Saxon, a medium grey. Khaki is too close to the Akubra Stylemaster in Fawn that I am selling as it is too big and washes me out. Dark...
Black Bailey Yates. I am not sure black looks good with what I have on. Got a post about this in the ask a question thread. What color would be better than black with this ensemble? Dark Brown? Dark Grey?
Tan pants, navy blue sweater.
Monk, for the third hat, look at brown or grey as being more versatile or what I need? I am torn between dark grey or some sort of mid to dark brown as being versatile for shirts to sweaters (red, grey, blues schemes in sweaters) and sports coats or jeans
Using the color swatch, My stetson is...
Ok, I may have asked this seven times, but I am struggling to find THE hat.
Well, I tried on some Baileys locally. I have a Stetson Saxon in Caribou and a Bailey Yates in black (Switched out the ribbon that was brown for a plain black one and they used a bailey pin, no bow though)
Have an...
I was in Mr. Hats in Memphis trying hats on. They have a new hat, an older model, a Royal Biltmore, in a grey that is about the same color as my Caribou Stetson Saxon. Size 7 1/4 I recall, but it was only $100.00. Anyway, it was nice, fit me better than the Stetson and was a tad softer. If I...
I tried on a Borsalino rain hat, a fedora, priced about $150 and it was fur felt but wow, so dang soft, but yet, the brim held. Alas, black and size 61. Anyone know which model it was (i forgot to note) and where I can go online and perhaps view it in brown and greys?
100 ml bottle, 60% full. SInce it is an entirely black bottle, light is hard to shine through. I can estimate 60% based on jiggling it around in front of a light with a flashlight shining it and watching the line of juice. Runs $120 retail and I am figuring $5 or so to ship so $60 seems about...
Bailey Gangster - what in the heck is smooth finish felt?
Looking for a dark grey fedora. I have a lighter grey (Caribou they call it) in a Stetson Saxon, center dent and 2" brim. I have the Litefelt Bailey Yates in a black fedora with the 2 1/4" contoured brim.
Thinking that for $56...
