    Good Wear Leather Modoc question

Good advice Scott. Thanks for input everybody. Carlos, it's a good plan, but I'm in no great hurry and if I had the ELC I'd only hanker after the GW. I have a goat LVC Menlo that's going nowhere, so HH would make most sense. I'm going to look at a darker brown or seal (not a really dark...

    Good Wear Leather Modoc question

I agree with all those observations - that image is a classic style and, aside from the tartan, I'll probably go down the same route in a seal. I'm not really that familiar with Shinki horsehide, roughly what weight is it?

    Good Wear Leather Modoc question

Thanks Seb - I'll look into lighter weight horsehides. I have a rayon lining in my M-442, but I like the idea of a cotton drill, or a herringbone cotton twill liner if it's available.

    Good Wear Leather Modoc question

Thanks for the advice ADC. I'm generally the same dimensions as John Chapman, although a little shorter in the arm (he's also 6', I'm 5'9", so this particular jacket would have worked for me). I'll take the advice and go a little longer in the torso.

    Good Wear Leather Modoc question

I've just put an order in for one of these and I'll liaise with John over the coming months to settle on the specifications. I prefer lighter weight jackets (I'm not a fan of heavy steer or heavy horsehide) and generally prefer a well pebbled goat or lighter weight horsehide that will...

Vintage AN-J-3 Flight Jacket (Size 46-48)

Further images. A theatre ticket was found in one of the front pockets, which locates it to New York (which is where it was sold by Abercrombie & Fitch).

Vintage AN-J-3 Flight Jacket (Size 46-48)

]This is a WWII-era AN-J-3 flight jacket (or possibly assembled later in the decade). A-J-3 jackets are extremely rare, and no original used by the military has turned up bearing a mil spec label. This one was used (possibly by a military flyer in Korea given the characters on the patch) and...

For Sale: Good Wear Leather I Chapman & Sons A-2 Goatskin (Size 46)

Thanks Dave, I'll reply with the info that you need. I originally omitted two images, which I've now attached. Both colours are true - russet undertones come out in really bright sunlight. The front shot was taken under duller skies, when it looks more seal.

For Sale: Good Wear Leather I Chapman & Sons A-2 Goatskin (Size 46)

For Sale: Good Wear Leather I Chapman & Sons A-2 Goatskin (Size 46) This is the Isaac Spiewak & Sons contract shown here (http://www.goodwearleather.com/pages/a2_ichapman.html - the images are not of this particular jacket), but due to Trade mark issues John applies his own label. This jacket...

    FS VTG 1940s Doniger/McGregor Sportswear M422 (size 44)

I am selling my McGregor Sportswear/David D Doniger M-422. [/url [url=http://s13.photobucket.com/user/Sly--Sly/media/doniger%20m422a/DSCN1935_zpsfcf292e3.jpg.html] The shell is a thick, soft capeskin - the grain is incredibly subtle and very similar to my former McGregor AN-J-3. This...

    FS WW2 Leather Jerkin (medium/large)

I bought this from John Lever quite recently, but I'm having a clear out so it's now for sale. As John said in his original ad, it has a couple of scuffs/surface scratches, but nothing serious - I've tidied loose stitches and any tiny tears. The fit is medium to large (I'm a 42-44"...

My latest buy: Aero M422A Jacket

I have a '40s civilian M-422 and it's certainly a more comfortable, warmer jacket than the A-2. Arguably less iconic, but a more practical jacket.

    Eastman A-1 size 48: 2 Weeks In

That is my BK custom made - I didn't have them shortened (I'm shorter in the arm, especially when reaching in my pocket for my wallet at the bar... ;) )
