It broke my heart when Roger opened the envelope and said it was a boilerplate resignation letter... :(
Don does seem to be the only really compassionate one around the office lately, doesn't he?
Reminds me of this: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/03/26/offensive-vodka-ad-causes-uproar-after-going-viral/
The fact that this company actually thought it was okay is more sickening than the ad itself.
I tend to agree. With all the mixed messages out there, its no wonder we have such mixed...
At my prom, most of the girls pushed it as far as the law permitted (this was Catholic school) with their revealing dresses, and their graduation outfits weren't much better. Convocation in college was a bit improved, but quite a few of my contemporaries had me shaking my head with the outfits...
Betty can be a piece of work. When Sally wrapped her arms around her, you could actually see Betty soften from "we'll deal with it" to "it's okay, sweetheart". I liked that, I hope it stays that way.
You're probably right, since mine usually come out very stiff after ironing, then I have to break them in by wearing them lol I think I'll try it with just a tiny bit of dampness next time. Thanks!
Thanks! Let's see if I can type it out: I put my bangs into a standing pin curl winding toward the right side of my head. Also on the right side are two flat pin curls, the top one winding toward my face and the bottom toward my ear. I leave them overnight. In the morning I shake them out and...
I struggled with this. At first I thought, too, that Don was being too hard, but by the end of his talk with Lane I could tell that he really wasn't. He could have handed Lane to the police. He could have exposed him to the other partners, the staff, his family - completely ruined him. But...
Whaat? You're so wrong! :p Easy Money has me in stitches every time I watch it, and I've watched it hundreds of times!
Do you have any men shirts for men? lol
Great advice, but going by my own experiences, I'd be wary of ironing them if they are wet at all. I iron my rayons only after they have completely dried.
Retro_GI_Jane, your rolls and kiss curls are flawless! A job well done! :eusa_clap
MissLaurieMarie, you look great with that length of hair, it really suits you :)
Lately I've been switching between my usual pompadour and a pin curl wave, which has been making me happy:
A big thank you to...
I love Babs too :D I can't get enough of her in the late 40s and 50s: Sorry, Wrong Number (1948), Clash By Night (1952), Witness to Murder (1954), Crime of Passion (1957) were all sensational!
I, of course, loved Double Indemnity (1944) "Baby", and she made me cry in Stella Dallas and Meet...
Welcome to the Lounge, Runa! I'm looking forward to your hair and make-up expertise and seeing your collection! Your pictures are lovely, you remind me of sultry Lila Leeds :)
(ps. We have the same tragus piercing!)
If that was the case, and it sounds like it was, then your friends are a little misguided! Endless literary and real life examples come to my mind of people giving up work to chase their ambitions. Tell them to watch You Can't Take it With You, for one!
That dawned on me pretty soon after...
I hunted these down a few months ago when I saw the advert in a magazine. Both the rouge and lipstick are lovely, though a bit too brown for me.
Anyone else think the model can give January Jones a run for her money? Look at that wave!
I agree, especially in its most commonly used form, "Supermom". I can see her now, smiling dazzlingly at me from my TV screen*. She manages the house, the kids, the husband, her looks and her job with mind bending efficiency, and never breaks a sweat. (*This busy lifestyle is why Speedy Auto...
Preliminary notes: I'm posting this in the Powder Room because I am coming at this topic from a woman's perspective, and I believe the discussion would be furthered best by fellow feminine perspectives.

We've all heard the term "societal pressure", and...
I know what you mean! Someone once told me "you have such a creative look!" and I felt slightly affronted, like she thought I looked like a walking high school art project.
I get it in that tone often when people see me in flat shoes  Interestingly, its never people with whom I...
These days people film film everything, and practically none of it is of historical/political significance. And when these videos do stay relatively local, they immortalize what should have been small problems quickly solved. A local (to me) example was when a TTC subway car did not shut its...
Well why not, when even Hollywood - childrens' greatest influence - is doing it, too? I went to the movie theatre not long ago and during a preview for another one of those animated kids' films (can't recall which), Sexy and I Know it by LMFAO was playing, and credited as featured in the movie...
