The most inspiring moment of my life so far was because of architecture: It was after I saw the play Private Lives last October at Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre, a most opulent building completed in the early 1900s. Something about standing outside under the lights, waiting to see a play...
I just did the same thing recently! Even though I coloured my hair myself, it was still a lot of maintenance to dye it darker, so I gave it a good soaking of ColourFix and let it do its thing now. I haven't dyed over my own streak in years, though. I like it :)
I quite enjoy my midcentury back issues of Woman's Day magazine. There are some great stories and articles written in them. One of the only magazines I can think of these days that remains to that standard is Vanity Fair, but even it toes the line sometimes... :(
I hate that so many women...
Beyond not sharing your view (which, ironically, I find to be very healthy and well adjusted lol) I think your friend would rather idolize a character than identify with them. We can all identify with some part of some character in Mad Men, but idolizing would be very difficult. They're too...
Just now I had a chat with our delivery man, and he mentioned that people who watch the news and really feel downtrodden by it should remember that it is less for information now than it is a business. The salacious details of crimes, the health crises, and sensationalist gossip make better...
Good for you! It's very inspiring to read the healthy optimism of a fellow enthusiast. I'm glad the modern world isn't keeping you down. :)

I'm a sponge/hot roller girl myself, but I use pin curls in between washes. I tried the headband...
I watched this movie for the first time recently. I loved everything about it - especially Lee Remick's fabulous hairstyle!
"The defense would be glad to show the jury what kind of hair Mrs. Manion has..."
From the front it appears shoulder length, but it's actually a good way...
This isn't restricted to the "vintage community", and may be less prevalent herein than in many other circles. These people exist in every community, and it is unfair to infer that braggarts only exist here, or are most prevalent. As dhermann1 says, most of us actually brag about how little...
Miuccia Prada has never aimed for timelessness, though - Her philosophy has always been to take the nerdy, ugly, or outlandish and make it cool. I'd say she lived up to it with this collection! :)
Thanks Johnny! :) I find her a bit monotone in interviews too, but it's sort of funny to see how quiet and almost meek she is, for a burlesque performer.
I do hope she comes to Toronto, I will definitely see her show.
