I refuse to take part in Facebook for several reasons. I didn't know FL was there, either, but I'm not surprised as there's a portion of the online world that only lives there. The annoying part is they assuming everyone else lives there, too.
Watch this if you hate Facebook, too. You'll love...
I have a few points:
- You are so used to the stares at intersections and from people going down the road, you don't even notice anymore.
- You know every wide spot in the road near your home, so you can pull over to let the faster traffic pass.
- You've spent an amazing amount of time...
I've gone there three times, from 2012 to last October. Won't make it this year which really ticks me off (they brought back the week-long adult session for the first time in many years, and one team will have Astronaut "Hoot" Gibson as an advisor) but I fully plan to get back there in 2016...
Ah, I've been there a few times to hit the adult version of Space Camp a few times now. I'm also a public speaker for the program where I live. Click here if you're interested in seeing more.
In some cases, I'd agree. But my wife has this odd habit of thinking whatever she likes, knows and...
Buskers? I'd never heard the word until just now. I had to look it up: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_performance
It drove me nuts when I was stationed near DC in the Army, in the Mall area, people would just stand there shaking cups of change, as there had to be some kinds of laws...
That's a very good way of putting those types!
My wife and I work for the same company and it drives me out of my mind when she starts talking about work to non-employees in a way that only anyone working there would know. She uses company terms and acronyms. I keep telling her in front of...
For a while, I'd offer to look at their car to see if I could fix it, or offer to drive them to the auto parts place down the street to buy the part with their money and me making up the difference. They always had a reason why they couldn't do that. They'd never, EVER tell you where said car...
In Seattle, they make a big deal about permanent camps for 'homeless' as if they're going to transition them into working taxpayers.
I worked in a copy place in college, between the Catholic church and the local rescue mission. All the transients pretty much centered on the neighborhood I worked...
I can't understand why people never swiped said sneakers and tossed them somewhere.
Any way to motivate people like that out of there would be the mission of many locals, I'd think.
Gotta ask this here, I guess. What is it with people and microbrews? People have to brag about all the odd brands they've had, especially when you won't have a clue of the names as they're from some other area.Beer is nothing special for me at all, especially American beers. I do admit I...
Fair enough, but generally, I've seen that people will normally start brag about, say, sports and the stadiums they've been to. Person two says they hate sports and couldn't care less. And the first person, often, will shut up or change the subject.
Micro brew people don't even hear you tell...

Beer is nothing special for me at all, especially American beers. I do admit I sometimes like to down a bottle of...
I worked for a newspaper for a few years in the late 80s and I can tell you that all sports writers and commentators share two things in common:
They all think they're hilarious
None of them really are
I've never been impressed with sportscasters at all.
That whole, "I am what I am" (usually...
My whole life, I've seen that. My parents taught the importance of washing your hands every time you hit the bathroom. It was just what you did and I still do it. But yeah, even to this day, I see plenty of people go do their business and walk right out. Disgusting.
Amen, there.
It is, I think, a status thing now. It says, "Look, I'm trendy and can afford" this overly-priced cup of 'meh'".
The Army had long known that people generally run around dehydrated most of the time. Ask anyone who's served since the early 80s or so. They'll tell you they never drank...
Starbucks is good illustration as to why people are insane.
Charge way too much for coffee, convince people they gotta have it every day and make so it takes them half an hour to order (from a menu that lists very little of what they have to offer, so you already have to know what you want). And...
I haven't start scenery yet, but that's coming very soon. Click here to see more if you're interested.
I need to get some more up-close photos of the period details I've worked on so far...
I'm badly trying to find a good photo of a Pet Ice Cream (or milk) sign from the pre-war era. Pet was (and still is) a dairy outfit mostly out of the Southeast (but not as far South as the Gulf coast). They were a big thing in the area my parents grew up in, in Northeast Tennessee, as there was...
Even funnier are the people with chrome-plated brush guards. How insane is that? That's like buying a gold-plated axe!
Here in WA state, people drive whatever speed they want, in whatever lane they want. Very few people have any concept of faster traffic to the left. I've seen countless times...
