I have an Aero Grizzly and one made by Steve S. I like both but I also like the Himel version and have said this here even before the Himel Grizzly was discussed on FL. Design, materials and workmanship are impeccable. What I can't take is the price. For the price of a Himel Grizzly I could buy...
I guess unlike most fashion brands out there one gets what they pay for in buying a Himmel, GW or Aero. They are not cheap but their key differences are reflected by the price point and not to mention intended use. Personally I prefer the mouton Grizzly's. The hair on hide just look too hard...
Congratulations, both look great. The August is very appealing. I guess one would have to spend time in the highlands to get to wear these in Indonesia on a regular basis.
I guess direct communication to Vanson is the logical choice. I know MASH Militaria have some NOS pulls available for old military jackets. They seem to have bits and pieces available not listed on their website. I bought a NOS Talon pull for an A2 jacket from them recently.
Out of modern cars, Mazda's still look good though just a bread and butter car. Nothing compared to the classics of course but I notice them all the time on the road and barely notice most other modern makes. If civilisation does not get destroyed by a rogue meteorite or World War III it will...
I have used plain Vaseline on my M422A navy type jackets with great success. Also avoids the solvent smells from propriety dressings that take ages to fade away.
Came across these photos of chain gang prisoners from the gritty 1932 film HELL'S HIGHWAY. Cool looking maybe denim shirts with target circles painted or sewn on their backs. Anyone know if they existed for real or just a fantasy? Makes the very powerful unsaid statement that one would be shot...
Not particularly long but Charles MIddleton's hair in the film HELLS HIGHWAY 1932 would not look out of place today for a longish look. He plays an eccentric new age hippy type character.

I wonder what their knits are made of? Every other decent maker never forgets to state that they are 100% wool. Cockpit forgets to mention this detail. Are they pure wool, wool blend or something else?
As other have pointed out this forum is more interested in vintage style be original or repro. Harking back to a bygone era and style. Many are also leather tragics so would like original patterns made with the best and coolest leathers as well with correct details and happy to put up with...
Read on Dinerman's blog that Albert Richard products were made by Fried Ostermann from Milwaukee in the 1930/40's. Superb jacket. If this was on the market I would seriously consider it.
Get the feeling that the OP by his tone to the thread may be trying to pick a fight. A bit sneery at everything else other than cockpit. Like others are not worthy. Nothing particularly wrong with cockpit products. I owned one when they were Avirex. Moved on to better stuff since then and so...
