More photos from my Mallory Homburg in Post #328 - looks like post 1934 based on the Union tag and price of $6. Has anyone ever seen the leather sweatband marked before - in this case Brandt Leather? Thanks!
I obtained two bottles of Glenlivet 12 year old from my mom's house that I believe have been there, unopened and sealed, since the 1970s. Sipping a glass right now it seems very good - better than I remember this brand being. I know the consensus is that Scotch does not age in the bottle and...
Trying to look all tough (and failing) before a 1930s big band and auction event but I like these sunglasses.

Dillinger Days at work, ditto on the sunglasses
I did a search and found a few posts and it is clear the original Made in England G9 is the best but they are too expensive for this country boy. Are there others that can be had for cheaper that are almost as good? I saw a Van Heusen "tailored in Taiwan" with the same Baracuta name tag that...

Don't ask me why but I had to have this Mallory Homburg. I don't like the front pinch but overall the hat looked good. I been wanting to take the Homburg plunge and this one also looked old to me and was sold by a store my mom used to go to in the 1930s when she was a kid living in St. Louis...
I won this dark gray Stetson 3X Beaver fedora with a mode edge. I was thinking 1940s. Is that about right? Why wouldn't it have a model name, like Royal or Imperial? Thanks!
John
Oh man, lefty beat me to it. And I hope that it's dark gray.
We were watching the Thin Man again last night (that movie never gets old) and now that I'm a black hat owner I was noticing how many there were in the movie. Lt. Guild wears one throughout, so does the gigolo boyfirend (a Homburg I think) and other extras. Even Nick wears one with a light...
