Possible sticky -how to measure a jacket
Hi all, As a relatively new member here who is still developing an understanding of these great jackets, I am regularly struck by how differently some people actually go about measuring them. There seems to be numerous posts to the effect of "it was advertised as having a pit to pit of 23"...- dan_t

Alexander leather sleeve length
+1 on this. FWIW, if the sleeve is above the knuckles when arms are straight (and the jacket is new), I'd say it will be OK in the long run. For all of the hassel sending it back to shorten the sleeves, what are you actually going to take out, a half inch perhaps? If the rest of the jacket...- dan_t

Lots of great advice gentlemen, are there any pics for the OP to actually 'see' the 40" HWM vs a 42" Roadster? This may be a useful next visual step. (Have to also claim a personal interest in the topic for a possible future purchase myself).- dan_t

Christmas Jacket No. 3 Alexanders "Roadster" in Oilpull Steer
Love it Plumbline! Just curious, on my AL (Arkansas) the inner & outer chest pockets appear to be very similar to yours. They have a tendency to overlap only slightly, creating a small amount of 'bulkiness'. Do you have a similar effect with this?- dan_t

New custom Simmons Bilt in Horse Hide
Love the leather on this one! Always interested in seeing 'in the flesh' shots, rather than just the manufacturers online images. The vintage treatment looks mild, but just enough to make a nice difference. Definitely post some fit pics when it arrives. Congrats!- dan_t

Not sure here, but it seems as though th OP may not be looking for advice regarding ordering a new one. I couldn't agree more. An AL jacket that I recently purchased was advertised with a 23" back. When I received it, I measured it and am confident that it's actually 24". I have measured the arms & can get three distinctly different length measurements depending whether I measure along the...- dan_t

I'd say that it looks great on you. I would prefer a (slightly) tighter fit, but your jacket looks just fine on your frame. Love the boots too.- dan_t
