It may depend on customer's preference or something else? There is a hat it classifieds that is ~1 yr old that has a plain sweat and white unbranded liner...I assume under the sweat there is marking as you mentioned on your earlier hat.
Question on Dimensions of OR/OR Clones Vintage vs Modern
Found some conflicting info on the forum, trying to get a feel for the dimensions of a Vintage Stetson OR or Clone vs Modern ORs
Is Brim Width 2 3/4"? Also the open crown height/block type would be useful (e.g. tapered/straight etc)...
Now looking back I have the same concern. I bought a couple hats at the garland outlet for 1/2 of the advertised price which lines up to the $65 but for some reason the excellent PG whippet for the JP market was $125 (+20 shipping) which I bought a size too big and is really not wearable (reason...
Thanks for the clarification....I was meaning to say Mike does not offer the conformateur service in the mail, I believe Art is the only one that offers that service? I understand about comment on hatters due to the subjectivity, I do realize that everyone has their favorite! Thanks for posting!
No arguments regarding a $25 difference between 2 hatters. Other hatters are a little more in the price difference so may or may not be a factor along with lead times.
I totally agree about all these hatters creating wonderful hats, I do regularly check out facebook, instagram, Etsy, FL...
Just came across this post. When I was doing some comparison of custom Hatters not too long ago I found that Mike at NW did have the best price point for both Beaver ($250) and Rabbit ($200) plus any added fees for brim binding (not sure if it is $25?? like Gannon). I know Gannon adjusted his...
I met Kevin....seemed like a nice guy. My time was limited and was hoping to look at a couple of interesting hats, I browsed the hats behind glass on the right and looked briefly at the hats behind the counter. I did ask one of the other sales guys on what they had in light weight felt and they...

See post #33839; yes this hat was made exclusively made for the Japanese market. Check with the Hatco outlet in Garland, I know that they had some but not sure what they have now or if they will possibly get some more in ?
Purchased from Hatco not too long ago. I was excited to get this unique hat but it ended up too big (I wear 7 1/4) never did wear it. Thought I'd post here before going to ebay, comes with Stetson hat box (not shown). Priced for what I have into it. $145 + actual shipping.
Designed by Matt...
Thanks both for the suggestion to stop by JJ's. It was a really short trip and had the chance to stop by for literally 10 mins on Thursday. Neat shop but unfortunately nothing there that really caught my eye. Had a clearance section in the back but mostly uncommon sizes, lot of stuff from PPH...
I came across this old thread. I am heading to NYC tomorrow morning, driving up from NC and staying in a hotel in NJ. Taking my wife to NYC for her first time (I grew up on Long Island many years ago) and have been living in PA and NC for the past years. Anyway it is her 40th birthday and taking...
Sorry! I couldn't resist I will restrain....I spend a lot of time of the forum to learn about hats and post very little, can't deal with the "drama" which I have to restrain from posting on a couple other threads
If I recall Fespa is extremely expensive to import due to the minimum quantities. I believe some of the hatters go in on a big shipment, regardless it either more $ than Winchester beaver or the same price plus limited supply in the US is the reason for the premium. I must of read this somewhere...
In my hands is the key !!I wish I was into hats when I was in the area last summer (hillsboro Oregon) for some company training (company I work for in NC recently merged with a company in OR)
