And you're meant to be looking after your poor, neglected cat Holly. :D

Having a half belt made by Aero

Will used to drive up the road to Lochcarron to pick up pieces of tartan for custom linings. That never struck me as an efficient way to run things. If the choice is being dropped to four then I'm guessing that's another stage of the rationalisation process. I suspect that if you want...

    Anyone ride motorcycles?

I prefer the Husqvarna Nuda, which is a more radical take on the F800 range. Are they shipping them to the States? It might look dorky, but I'd rather be wearing that instead of an Aero if I fell off. I came off after being clipped by a car whilst wearing a BKS Leather two piece, and escaped...

This has to be my all-time favourite Grizzly photo.

    "The Grizzly"

I had a hair on belt a few years back, and it went bald after a while. I'd be a bit nervous about getting a jacket with horsehair on it for that reason. But a sheepskin trimmed Grizzly could be more durable. There are pictures on the Grizzly thread of abused jackets that have remained...

    Staff changes at Aero Leather

From Holly's comments it sounds as though Aero are focusing much more on the Twenties to Fifties era, and heavy leather, particularly horsehide, utility jackets are something that they do very, very well. I'm hoping that Will does something a bit different, perhaps taking inspiration from old...

The Denim Thread: Questions & Answers, Pics & Fits

I've got a feeling that Ooe Yofukuten make jeans up to order, so if you wanted a pair they'd accommodate. But I don't know what the ordering process is. If you figure it out let me know. :)

The Denim Thread: Questions & Answers, Pics & Fits

I'm sure that Ooe Yufukuten would add a second back pocket if you asked, but I think that you're after a trimmer cut. If you can live with the rear pockets, Tender's Type 129 and Type 130 are slimmer cuts based around old work pants. The silhouette is similar, but the details are a lot simpler.

The Denim Thread: Questions & Answers, Pics & Fits

Ishmael, Ooe Yufukuten do some really old timer designs, and I think that they're custom made in various fabrics. I particularly like the Hercules overall.

What do you think of my future Aero hercules order?

Aero used to do the Cropduster, which had elastic instead of side straps. I liked the look, which was cleaner, but you'd want the jacket to be a bit more fitted for them to work well. There aren't pictures on the website any more, but I'm sure they could send you them if you asked. If going...

The Denim Thread: Questions & Answers, Pics & Fits

Yeah, the 634 XHS are really expensive. But they're relatively cheap compared to some brands... :o As for the contest, I might be tempted for a giggle. But given my approach to denim care is to chuck it into the washing machine every few weeks and not get fixated by soaks, fancy shampoos...

The Denim Thread: Questions & Answers, Pics & Fits

If you're into heavy denim there's a two year abuse your jeans competition starting in April. Details have been posted at Superfuture, Indigo Roots and Ironheart. Rivet and Hide are offering the Steel Feather 21 oz unsanforised jeans for a discount (use code HWDC2) to competitors, and Ironheart...

The Denim Thread: Questions & Answers, Pics & Fits

The LVC reproduction 501s are selling for £215, whereas most Ironhearts sell for $400, or £250. I appreciate the Lees are significantly cheaper, but I haven't tried them myself. Though I did have a couple of pairs of 101s a few years back that were nice. Incidentally, I find the Tender back...

The Denim Thread: Questions & Answers, Pics & Fits

I've not been entirely struck by the Levis / LVC reproduction jeans. Prices in Europe went up sometime in the last year, and I don't think that they offer good value for money these days. Something like a pair of Ironheart jeans wouldn't be significantly more. I mentioned Tender in the other...

What do you think of my future Aero hercules order?

I think that the buckles were cinched in that photo, but it's about four years old so I can't remember all the details. :D The fit isn't bad, though back then it was quite snug in the shoulders. And if I was doing it again I'd get the body tapered somewhat.

What do you think of my future Aero hercules order?

As others have said, the leather strip has been discontinued but Aero now offer a no-cost option of a wider, corduroy strip instead. I've got an old Hercules without the chest pocket, so this photo will give you an idea of the look. Also consider a Pioneer style back, with a split main panel...

I'm sorry to hear that Amanda's gone. For a lot of us, she was the public face of Aero, and I hope that things work out for her in future.

Lee 101Z 23 oz selvedge jeans

Another suggestion for jeans is Tender. Aero currently carry them, but I'm not sure if this is going to continue. The 132 cut that they sell is relatively loose, the 130 is slimmer, and the 129 is much tighter. William Kroll, who runs the company, is a mad genius. Take a look at the Tender...

Lee 101Z 23 oz selvedge jeans

There are rumours that there might be a few pairs of the 634SR cut floating around, so you might be lucky. Drop IH UK an email and see. Alternatively, the Vulcan is in a 19 oz unsanforised denim.
