Glad to be of service. :)
I seem to be posting this picture every five minutes these days, but you can see the zipper on the handwarmer pockets. Like I said, they're not particularly noticeable.
Looking good there Worf. :)
Schitzo, on my last Aero I had zippers added to the handwarmer pockets. That makes them secure, stops them from gaping with wear, and doesn't make much of a difference to the look of the jacket.
A couple more options would be Wesco and Viberg (particularly the Service Boot) but they're more expensive again. I've only seen a couple of pairs of each, but they felt significantly better than Redwing.
A leftfield choice would be Beck's Boots. They do made-to-measure, with a comprehensive...
I think that a horizontal double-welted chest pocket would be better than a zipper. It's keeping the number of different elements down - I suspect that's why a button was used.
My preference would be to lose the chest pocket, and install a pair of inside pockets instead.
Looking good there Worf. The fit's spot on. Now all you need to do is abuse the poor thing until it softens up and acquires a patina.
Shame about the cake though...
Glad to hear that the jacket fits well, and looking forward to fit pics. I'm guessing it's this one.
I'm not a great fan of the Alpaca lining, as I destroy it in a very short order. That's why I got cotton drill in my last jacket.
Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing how you get on with...
Some of the links to the Banana Fish store are blocked on the Global Rakuten site. Fortunately you can take a look at the original Japanese without impediment. The machine translation does read like the sleeve notes of a period stoner album though...
The blue Third Rock looks fantastic, but at...
Aero do a version of the tan jacket, it's the Six Pocket Hippy. If you're about a 44" chest then you could get the one listed in the sale section.
It's slightly different to the one shown on the Freewheelers site, as it doesn't have the straps on the lower pockets. I prefer Aero's take on it...
Majormajor, I like both iterations, but I think that the Route 66 looks the better of the two because it's cleaner.
I've tweaked the Photoshop version, with two further iterations. The first loses the chest pocket, and the second loses all pockets.
I'm allergic to chest pockets, so I'd be...
I really like the Himel Bros jackets, but a boxy cut doesn't work for me as I'd end up with it hanging loose around my waist. Not a good look, which is a shame because I like the Canuck Railroad Coat.
The Dustbowl Coat is very cool, though I prefer the Phraohs that I posted a few pages back. I...
I disagree. I think that this A2 looks far better on its twentysomething model than virtually any A2 I've seen on the Fedora Lounge or my occasional forays onto VLJ.
The A2 suits slim builds best, rather than those who ate all the pies. :o
MajorMajor, rather than basing your jacket on a Trail Rider, why not consider the Route 66 instead?
Aero don't have particularly good photos on their site, but Kentaurus do. It's quite a trim jacket, so probably a similar cut to the Trail Rider. If you lost the chest pocket and added button...
The Norfolk jacket that everyone is having unchristian thoughts about is around £640 / €740 / $970.

The waistcoats are about half that, but they don't come up in my size. That's probably a good thing given my parlous state of finances.
