I really feel HatCo missed the mark for not having an open crown, Excellent quality, silverbelly Open Road available for 150th. I appreciate the Excellent & Premier open crown Stratoliners & other models but this one is as much an icon for Stetson as any model. JMHO -

Usually, steaming then brushing while still warm will "fluff" the felt fibers back up, when brushing alone won't raise the nap. I've known folks to "fluff" the felt fibers with a needle or pin. -
Akubra sizing: I wear a 57.5... What should I order? Shrink or stretch?
Always let an Akubra come down to your size & shape. I have all 61's plus a 62. They fit the same now. Band block used to keep them trained -

Have you heard of the Campdraft Stomp? Ask around...the true way to soften up a Campdraft for proper creasing....:cool: -

Replaced alpaca with Ancient MacKenzie tartan. Not as bulky, not as warm but warm enough, no itching anymore. Wore it heavily this winter = can report on wear & tear soon.- gtdean48

Hat smell...
Leather is a different story for sure. I use Lexol Cleaner & Conditioner, typically their wipes. -

The diamond liner to me is more modern than vintage. So is the size tag. -

Hat smell...
Crumpled newspaper worked for heavy pipe smoker smell. Also using talcum powder to cover hat, gently rubbed in & brushed off, helps with stains & smells -

Driving my wife nuts dept. = I pointed out to her that the silver tab on the end of his hatband was missing this season. Doesn't the wardrobe dept keep an eye out for things like this? My wife says she doesn't look for stuff like this. I say I don't either but just notice them....her reply was... -
