    Leather Jacket repair

Insurrection in Seattle may be able to repair it. I believe Goodwear does a similar jacket.

    Schott 585 Vintage Motorcycle Jacket

Not feeling it. If you want a vintage look, I say go with real vintage. Take a look at Insurrection's website. If you find something you like, take the drive up to Seattle ;)

    Cafe Racer jacket advice sought!

Eyechild, I actually love Aero's FQHH. It's has a flat matte finish, scuffs easily, and does tend to transfer color. I find that it builds character quite quickly. I would highly recommend Insurrection. They definitely know their jackets!

Danger? Question about Schott Horse Hide Jacket

I doubt if that would be a problem. I have a Bate's from 1958 and it has areas that are similar to your pic. Still very strong and in good shape.

    Cafe Racer jacket advice sought!

I tried on Goodwear's cafe racer. The leather is superb and very different from Aero's. It's much thinner and softer than Aero's and doesn't have the flat/waxy look that Aero's FQHH has. Both are great leathers, it just depends on what you want. If you want a Goodwear, the wait might be a long...

just ordered a 50's half belt

I agree with TonyB. I really don't like the midweight HH. I find that while it is lighter, it does take a longer time to break in. The look of the leather I also find to be more "plastically". I would be wary of changing the cut/pattern of the arm holes.

Where to score a Jet Black A2

I'm sure Aero and Goodwear would do it in black.

Comments/Advice on Slimfit Stuart Aero jacket order...

I think the liner will look nice, but do you have some pics? Personally, I would do without the vertical inner pockets. I know a lot of guys like them, but I have found that they make the coat bunch up at the pocket borders. Bet it turns out great!

Comments/Advice on Slimfit Stuart Aero jacket order...

I thought the Stuart has basically the same fit as the 1930's halfbelt. Did you find the Stuart to be fuller then the slim halfbelt?

Suggestions On ordering an Aero Cafe Racer Jacket

+2 on Insurrection. Call them up and they can have them guide you. They really know their moto gear and as mrc stated, the price is the same.

    Tailor for Motorcycle Jacket

Insurrection in Seattle does alterations. I would give them a call and see if it's possible to alter it.

    Any new Christmas gifts?

Mrc, very nice. Did Insurrection do it? JB, from the pics, the jacket seems to be pretty baggy to me.

If you could only order one GW jacket today...

Initially, I was overwhelmed with the choices. The subtle differences between the A-2 jackets were difficult for me to pick up and they all kind of looked the same. John has been great to me. Living in Seattle, I've been able to meet him and he was able to measure me personally. He also took the...

My HWM is on his way !!!

I agree to disagree :) Personally, I like everything fitted- whether it be jeans, shirt, or jacket. For me, if I need to add another layer, I go to another coat.

My HWM is on his way !!!

Borisna, We are about the same size and I went with a 38 in a slim half-belt. I certainly would consider a 38 if you like a snugger fit.

My HWM is on his way !!!

Sorry to see that cut in your jacket! To me, your jacket seems to be a bit big, but I like a fitted jacket. As Wade told me at Insurrection, "You should feel the leather around you." ;) What size is your jacket and what are your measurements?

    How warm is a B-3?

I would also recommend the B-6 or D-1. For me, the B-3 would be way too hot. I also like the simpler design of the B-6/D-1. In Seattle, I would only wear my B-6 a couple of times a year, so I sold it. For me, wearing the B-6 was only comfortable if it was below freezing. In Munich, you should...
