HELP! Question about Aero 30s Halfbelt/Highwayman

Can anybody tell me the standard back lengths of a size 40 or 42 Highwayman and 30s Halfbelt? I always thought the Highwayman was shorter than the Halfbelt but Amanda said it's longer. Did she mix up the measurements? I tried on a Highwayman in 38 a while ago and it was very short. I wouldn't know where to put the halfbelt on an even shorter jacket.

Thanks, I appreciate your help.

Size 42 1930s Slimfit Halfbelt is, at stock length, no added length, neck seam down the back to the bottom hem, 24". Just measured one yesterday! I have no idea what a Highwayman's length is. I would imagine the Highwayman would seem shorter, as JanSolo stated, because the 1930s halfbelt is about 1" longer in the front than it is in the back.

Thanks everybody! I really appreciate the feedback.

I was just wondering, because when I ordered my first 30s Halfbelt Will recommended a back length of at least 27.5" for me (size 40 and 186cm tall). I ordered one in 24.5" and Amanda was like: "Are you really sure you want it that short?" and nearly everybody here at the FL who commented on my pictures said it was way too short for them. I also think that the panel below the halfbelt looks smaller on my jacket than on the jacket on Aero's website.

My Highwayman Size 42 has a back lenght of 67cm (26.37")

This is one inch more than normal. I asked for an additional inch in lenght as I don't like the bottom end of the jacket pushing down the belt.

I have a Highwayman size 40. I bought it new, but didn't custom order it. It was sold as being 25.5 in the back. I never measured it when I got it, but just measured it now (two months and lots of wear later) and it is more like 25 inches. So maybe they "shrink" with wear wrinkles? Might be something to consider if they do.

I'm 5'9" and the back goes to the top of my back pockets with modern jeans so I think that length is fine for me. The friont goes below my belt which is a definite must for me.

Sounds right to me. I'm the same height and a size 40 in Aero, I would never consider a jacket with a back length less than 27 inches.

Thanks for the answers. Amanda told me the standard back length of the 30s Halfbelt is 24.5/25" and of the Highwayman 25"/25.5" in size 40/42 respectively.

Seb, do you wear high waisted trousers or modern trousers/jeans that sit on the hips? A standard 30s Halfbelt calls for high waisted trousers in my opinion. Wearing trousers low on the hips calls for a longer jacket.

I have both a Highwayman and a '30's Halfbelt in a size 40 with no modifications. The Highwayman measures 25.5" and the Halfbelt measures 25". I'm 5'11" (180cm)

Hope this helps

Rudie, I just got a 30s HB and it's probably the Aero I'm most happy to have owned. If you're 186cm, you're a little bit taller than me: I would go for a size 40 with, at most, an extra inch on the length. My advice would be to ask what the eventual front length will be and use that as a guide to the length you are after. The reason is that this cut has a much shorter back. I'd guess you need around a 27" front for your height.

I am 5 ft 10 and my aero size 40 is 24.5. If I had to do over again I would add another inch. It sits at my belt on standard jeans. Not high or low. Sent Amanda pics and she thought it looked perfect.... I'll post pics later. I'm on my phone now.

Ps: my girlfriend says I have a "long torso". My pant length is normally 30. This probably is why my neverending search for the perfect jacket continues.
