Recently picked up this vintage Vanson CHP odd variation with chrome hardware all around and no also gun pocket in the inside facing. Hence the no serial number as well. Main zip is a double marked Talon #10 and sleeve zips are some odd " 7 / L" zip. Any ideas from the lounge on when this is...
Nice well loved Vanson BFD70! I also have another vintage V coming in next week. Talon zip on this one so Im guessing late 80s/early 90s maybe? Not sure when they switched to YKK
Since you brought it up, I'll toss in my 2cnts. As much as I love a good Vanson, there was a recent Thurston x Vanson jacket post w some new marbled leather and my first thought was Restoration Hardware Leather couch. Just my opinion. Same goes for beer, ice cream, art. Peoples individual...
I hear you on the "thin", which is why I haven't picked one up from a local mall. Also the reason why that older stock pre distressed one caught my eye. I was hoping it might be a bit thicker etc but the collar distress does kind of bother me. I even asked the seller if there was one without it...
I might have the same #10 zip on this Lost Worlds I picked up. The slider is a chunky paperclip type but the zip box says Conmar in small vertical letters. The only reason Im leaning for a Talon is that all 5 other zips on the jacket are the nickel Talon #5 Bell shape WWII style. I was digging...
Jacket arrived safely and exactly as described. Pleasure dealing with you GMCD and thanks for breaking in the Lost Worlds. Even now it's still heavy duty. No way I'd ever want a brand new one! Fit pics to follow after it's done soaking up some conditioner
I'm definitely a rookie when it comes to denim jackets so I wanted to see what the lounge thinks of this Levis I'm contemplating buying. I don't usually see copper buttons on trucker jackets so Im thinking this might be too flashy/tacky? Made of selvedge denim USA. Worth $100?? New with tags
Planning on sending my Lost Worlds chain mail armor jacket off for a new zip once it arrives this week and I'm toying with the idea of using a vintage NOS Talon #5 two way zip. Mainly for aesthetics. Would you guys chance it or stay with the #10 it was built with?
Really need to free up some of my limited closet space so I'm putting these up for grabs. Only shipping to CONUS members so apologies to those across the pond. All prices are net to me, Paypal F&F or cover fees, plus actual shipping.
Pics with a thick thermal shirt underneath it’s a bit tight across the back / underarm. T-shirt is good. This was also kind of a close-out price model so exchange for 42 isn’t possible. Just refund or hope the inner fur mats down and gives me a little more room? What says the lounge??
So I found a stockist who happened to have a 40 laying around and I’m kind of seeing what Sloan meant. The jacket fits properly everywhere except for the chest/upper back. It does feel oddly restrictive when worn semi open. Might be due to the multiple seems on this pattern vs say a D1. Do you...
Exactly what HPA states. As a fellow Jersey Boy, I’ve gone through the same inaccurate / illegal tax hassle with EBay a few times this year. I’m actually avoiding eBay purchases until they correct their tax collection program.
Another ride with my vintage Vanson Force 40. With Forcefield elbow/shoulder armor in. The Vanson pads are just too bulky compared to the newer materials. Pardon the dirty mirror!
Decided I needed to finally try a Lost Worlds and see if I'm "man enough"! Pulled the trigger on the used Buco Rider style from our classifieds. Needs a zip job but the measurements were too good to pass on. Should be great on the bike
Beautiful jacket! Think it was actually yours that made me itch for one of these. Curious to see how I like it versus my D1. While I know Ill miss the pockets, I think that waist belt must be pretty functional when the temp drops/wind kicks up.
What's the shoulder measure if you don't mind...
