I don't think you can stretch armholes really because of the seams and stitching; and that's much more so with thick hide. Is this the CXL steer? It's a problem I've have with the high armhole pattern jackets from Aero. I've never bought one like that from AL because I know it would be the same.
Eventually. I don't think it would be a problem until the jacket was very old whatever people say. I have a Hercules jacket which is as old as I am, and thats getting on a bit, and I had to re stitch every seam recently where they had all rotted. Probably contributed to by someone using oil on...
Yes it does look good. Is it FQHH or the midweight HH? It's a bit hard to tell since it's obviously very new. Purists, and they do exist, may quibble that the hide is a bit too stiff for this jacket of course. But it is what it is, and for what it is it looks very nice.
Yes they are both from France and with the same first name. Reading between the lines that other project might have involved Will Lauder before the schism perhaps? There were references later to labels which were similar...
I read through this thread earlier and noticed that there were references to the Southampton Cockpit Company Irvins from thirty years ago which were very good repros apparently and are now as rare as rocking horse merde. The son of the company wanted one I think. Well there is one on eBay UK...
Dear Sir,
I wish to complain in the strongest possible terms about the previous
Entry in this file about the lumberjack who wears women's clothes. Some of my best friends are lumberjacks, and only a FEW of them are transvestites.
Yours faithfully,
Brigadier Sir Charles Arthur Strong, Mrs.
Yes I wore Clarks Desert Boots, the original sand coloured suede ones, a lot yonks ago and they do get thin fairly soon if you're someone who wears out shoes quickly. But you can get almost any shoe re soled for a lot less than buying a new pair, and in a more hard wearing sole if you want...

Not really the place to post this perhaps, but UK members might be interested that Clarks Burgundy Horween CXL Desert Boots are being sold off at half price for £49.50 on the Clarks UK site. They have a few sizes left in those but all the sizes in the red...
Presumably he can buy the jacket at a good price, he said it was on the sale page, and by treating it get the look he was after fairly cheaply. Although he would have to treat it regularly I should think to keep that look. Makes sense, and you wouldn't do it with a full price one, you'd just get...
Sounds right. Like I said about an inch extra pit to pit to allow for the shearling. I've had a couple of the standard Aero jackets with shearling, and the shell size up adds about an inch pit to pit in my size. It depends how you want it to fit of course. I prefer a more roomy fit so I go for...
Right, I knew it was about the turn of that decade when I first started seeing them around. They changed the UK landscape even more in that they and the other big Jap bikes killed off the already sickly British motorcycle industry within a few years.
There were a few bigger Jap bikes before...
But the Thunder bay is the one shearling lined jacket which is not made with a size up shell, see up the thread. It was designed from scratch, unlike the others which were existing designs with the shearling added.
hipcheck, as I think Boyo wrote the best thing is to work from an existing...
Insurrection should advise you. But judging by your pictures a 42 seems right. A 40 with the lining will be too tight for sure. I don't know how you ended up with 44 TB at all if you wear a 40 in a HWM.
All the other Aero shearling lined jackets have a one size up shell to accommodate the lining. But Holly posted here that this is the only one which doesn't since it was designed as a shearling lined jacket. So it's a bit odd that they are all a coming up a little big...
Certainly should get some use in your current weather. It does look like it's a bit big on you to be honest. In the body and a bit too long on the arms, The length looks right to me.
It's what you think and how you like it that matters though. Nice though.
When I've had need to replace a similar design of button where the metal backing was sandwiched between the leather facings I've cut the button away and sewn the new one to the remaining thread. Assuming the button is put on with plenty of strong thread. Unless of course the metal ring comes...
