There are solvents that Ian (Dr H) could advise on but I had to resort to washing by machine when I bought a sheepskin jacket that had dried on dressing on seams and thread.

Well the cut of my LW jacket is far from baggy,it is closer fit than Eastman but allows greater arm movement and is very comfortable even though it is a vintage fit. The zip is a WW2 NOS Conmar.
These are old photos of my 10 year old jacket. The Aero is as good just different.
I have never had any issues with Aero zips in fact the zip on my Anj4 is one of the best yet and works perfectly.

I understand your desire to buy a RMNZ buy there are others out there like Aero
