Toine -
I have a Borsalino Como (bought from Bencraft Hatters a couple of years ago). I bought my true size 59cm/7-3/8 and the hat is snug but doesn't leave a mark on my forehead. It fits well enough that it stays put on my head without squeezing.
If you are between sizes, I would suggest...
This is my only true motorcycle jacket so by default it's also my favorite - a Lost Worlds CHP:
When the weather gets cold enough, I wear my B-2 (also Lost Worlds):

Your jacket color looks very close to how mine looked when it was new. After 6 - 12 months of wear, the color will tone down a bit and become lighter from wear and sun exposure. Here are a couple fairly recent photos:

It is normal for veg-tanned sheepskin to be stiff right out of the box. My Rough Wear B-3 was quite stiff initially. I don't know how your jacket feels to you (tightness wise) but it looks like you could go up one size. Beautiful jacket for sure!

The russet horsehide on my Lost Worlds B-2 looks like a milk chocolate color. There is a little bit of redness to it but definitely no yellow or orange color. Underneath the top finish as a very dark seal brown dye through the leather.
My jacket is 5 years old though - their new horsehide...
Lost Worlds construction is excellent. I have two of their jackets and they are indestructible. Their leather is quite heavy and stiff to start but softens up over time.

Great looking B-6! Is it just me or would that material make a good Irvin jacket? A different shade of brown would be needed but the material looks like some of those early Irvin jackets.

Paying by credit card was no problem for me. If I remember correctly Eastman shipped via Parcel Force but it was handled by Federal Express once it got to U.S. customs.
Their Werber A-2 is great and has a nice trim fit in the upper torso but has comfortable shoulders. Mine is 5 years old this year and just gets better and better.
To be honest, the shoulders of the jacket look a little too much like a suit jacket. These type of jackets should have a natural shoulder that follows the contour of the body. Also, the collar looks a bit large (to me). Other than that, it looks well constructed.
Since you mentioned Aero, I...
It probably varies from person to person but I find that my B-3 works well in 0 (degrees C) and below and also in cool and wet/damp conditions - maybe up to 10 degrees C or so. As the others have said, unzipping or zipping up the jacket can help regulate your body temperature.
Good luck in...
That looks completely normal to me. Drum-dyed hides don't show quite so much wear because the dye penetrates deep into the hide. It looks like yours is a light spray finish or semi-aniline, which shows more wear (or character).
I wouldn't sweat it too much.

As a side note, I find that my Eastman A-10s are a bit small on my hands. I would advise going up one size on these. Otherwise, they are tough gloves. For me, they are good down to about -5C.

I noticed this also. One more thought to add - if anyone here is looking for a Buzz Rickson's B-2 jacket, HPA's price is really, really good given the huge strength of the Japanese Yen. The maximum size is a 44 though...

I have one of those W&G A-1 jackets. It was my first real flight jacket - so I still love it to death. As HoosierDaddy said, it is made from capeskin - sort of a reddish/light brown color. The cut of the jacket is pretty generous (to me). It's very comfortable to wear too.

Congratulations on your new jacket, Mark. To answer your question about jacket care: you don't need to worry too much about shrinkage. I have gotten my sheepskin jackets completely soaked through during a rain storm and have no issues. I condition my jackets once or twice a year and wipe...
