Does anyone know if Eastman Leather ships to the United States? Their site shows "Sageway", which looks to be a U.K./Ireland payment format. Anyone have any experience with them accepting Credit Card or PayPal? The History Preservation Society are asking an arm and a leg for these jackets in the United States.

Thanks in advance,

Tom

By the time you figure in shipping and customs, buying a jacket from ELC is approximately the same price as from the HPA.
You get no break on the price shown on the ELC web site if buying direct from them, as they do not deduct VAT on non UK sales.
Here is a link to a locked thread discussing this topic from earlier this month ;

I don't know if they take PayPal...I know they take credit cards.
Not sure how they ship to the US. I received a jacket from them earlier this month that I returned back to them (I shipped it US postal service)...but my wife accepted the package and can't remember who the carrier was.
You can email ELC and ask them.

Paying by credit card was no problem for me. If I remember correctly Eastman shipped via Parcel Force but it was handled by Federal Express once it got to U.S. customs.

Not sure what they currently do.
When I asked my wife who the carrier was who delivered my jacket a few weeks ago, she noted she couldn't remember, .."but it definitely wasn't FedEx".
But...who knows. Could be wrong.

Eastman shipped my jacket via TNT, the Dutch company. After the jacket got to NY, I had to pay $70 for customs and an additional $35 to TNT for "handling" fees. Plus TNT let the package languish in customs in NYC for almost a week before it contacted me to determine the contents of the package. ELC didn't properly label the contents. Just one of several problems I had with ELC. Not a good experience, and one I won't be repeating.
