And from yet one more....1915. I find the "western" styes intriguing....they are more 19th century "Plains" style with the low crowns and "never flop" flat brims......some of the fedoras in this catalog have the wild bows common in the mid-teens.

I situations like that the buyer was not INTENTIONALLY misrepresenting the item, they were giving information as they understood it.
Fraud is Knowingly and INTENTIONALLY misrepresenting an item to increase its value/desirability. BIG difference from citing possible family provenance.

Wearing one of my modern "Stetsonions" yesterday up at a historic site in view of the Packers stadium in Green Bay.....I stirred positive comment from a volunteer (who was wearing a nice custom himself) as well as members of the public and especially the re-enactors at the site........and...
