Swedish is super cool too, i had two of them, kept one, both bought on eBay, i have seen maybe 4 or 5 size 42 in the last few years. If you see one ignore the measurements, just buy your usual tag size.
Just tell him to get a spray bottle, get the jacket on, spray himself and wear the jacket.
Keep spraying every 15 minutes to keep the jacket wet.
Do that a couple days, done.
Just in case you are more set on the model than the fabric, are you aware that Vanson made that jacket in leather in the 90s?
I have one and it is really nice, great riding jacket. Mine is the original TT style made in October 19, 1992.
There has been a couple version, the older one called the...
That rant was a good one, i forgot about that one.
My favourite thing about Dave is the way he does everything: "I make jacket", "I am in the midst of redoing my website" when things go well, but as soon as something goes wrong: "Parker must have screwed that up".
It was the same thing with my...
All i can say is Aero sizing is confusing at best...
My chest is 41", my Bootleggers are size 40 with a 24.5" pit to pit and they fit me well.
Here are the measurements of both my Bootleggers, size 40, stock other than using the STF sleeves (thinner sleeves):
Pit to pit: 24.5”
Back length: 26”...
Does it get cold where you live?
I own two B-3 jackets and living in London or Belgium i wear them once or twice a year maximum.
You really need freezing temperatures to comfortablt wear a B-3.
Agreed about it running small, i have the Windward and the Californian and the Windward feels 1/2 to 1 size smaller than the Californian.
Californian:
Windward:
Both are size 42, both fit well, but i definitely have more room in the Californian.
Not real usable room though, cause the...
I sent mine back the day i received it, it felt like very little jacket for the money (natural hide).
I don't remember the buttons being an issue, but the bottom hem was also 22" on my size 42.
You know that jacket was sold to someone who is 40lb (18kg) heavier than me, and it fits him perfectly.
If 40lb of extra human being fits in that jacket it didn't fit me well...
Yes it is, i am usually a 42 (41" chest).
Honestly, it was too big in every possible direction shoulders too wide, arms too large, chest was a good 2" too big, bottom hem was HUGE (you see it from the back).
It felt like i was wearing somebody else's jacket...
Maybe it is, but it looks nothing like the jacket he claims he is copying!
His website clearly states : "Rarely is a historical leather jacket so perfectly designed that we decline to update the pattern for contemporary wearers. This pattern, provided to us by legendary artisan John Chapman, is...
The Himel is literally supposed to be a copy of the Goodwear Imperial.
Personally i think that both Himels look off compared to the Goodwear below (not saying it fits me well, it was one size too big for me and was sold on, but the proportions are right.):
Pocket placement, halfbelt...
I've never really asked for specific measurements.
My first order was just specified as "size 42 with the length of a 44 and a 20.5" bottom hem"
Everything else was left to Stuart.
The jackets that followed where the same length and bottom hem, but other measurements have changed depending on...
I think it depends how you carry your weight.
When i bought most of my jackets i was around 78kg/171lb, i am now closer to 88kg/195Lb and all but a couple that where already on the tight side still fit me perfectly fine. But, i really spread the weight all over my body.
For me 20lb doesn't make...
Dude, if you can't see the difference in proportions between the OP's jacket and the ones @ton312 posted you are wasting your time on this forum...
Have you tried the Styleforum?
That jacket currently "works" because of your current weight.
You can see the front finishes just where it should, but the back is a good three inches too long.
I think this is happening because currently your stomach is filling in that jacket, once you loose weight the front will fall lower and...
