I've sent the jacket back to Stuart, i know Fausto can replace it without leaving a trace, he does the best zipper changes i have seen.
@JMax where the Scovilles you broke the same model? Not sure i should go for that one again.
Still haven't heard a tink from Zot, and he has still not...
I feel you are mixing things up, you can't compare buying a new item and selling it at a 50% loss on here and buying something used and selling it at a loss.
It's normal to take a loss when buying new and selling used... One would on the other hand expect an item bought used to have already...
Quoted for proof, from the head bartender himself:
"Also, be willing to accept suggestions from other members who may ask you to post better pictures, for example, or who may say outright that your item is not valuable and you should give up trying to command top dollar."
I would never put a pin on leather, it annoys me so much to see old jackets with holes in the collar i couldn't do that to one myself...
To me a personal touch is choosing a specific leather/lining/zipper/puller, not painting my jackets or punching holes through it.
Hard to say, i personally don't think i could get away with sizing up in teh Peter's like i can with other models like the J-23. I have a 42" chet and the 23" of mine is perfect with some room for a decent layer.
That jacket is a clone of mine and i am 6'2", 190lb, 42" chest 33" waist.
If you...
In his defence the prices of most things has gone insane since Covid, i think the current prices of a lot of things are far above what they should be if they just followed inflation. Prices of hides has gone up, prices of tanning chemicals has gone up, prices of shipping anything anywhere has...
I've never done it, but it has bone done by other members before.
It's pretty straightforward, just unsnap the epaulettes, push the points through the leather ( i would use somethign soft like wood or cork as a backing so as not to bend the points.
Once the points are through, flip the epaulette...
I have an invoice dated 08.15.21 for a J-24, it was $2350.
A year and a half later the current price is $2850.
Definitely expensive, Stuart told me that jacket takes almost twice as long as a simple jacket like the Ryder, that's why it has always been more expensive.
I think this thread needs to be closed, we cannot allow this kind of dissident thinking to spread on TFL!
Mike, go for a walk, you're going to be ok...
Looks just like the Schott 125...
Not a fan of the tail and the single rear belt loop but it looks to be in great condition.
No idea if these where HH or Cow.
I own a few pairs from these guys and they are great:

I use the deer and goat ropers to work with, also own a pair of elk ropers and gauntlets to ride with.
Great fit, well made, no problems whatsoever.
I know it's not super helpful, but i also don't want to ruin your thread and turn it into a BK war. I have also been threatened by Andy multiple times, when people write things he doesn't like on TFL he lashes out and threatens with lawsuits. If you google "fedora lounge bill kelso" you will...
I would always favour Eastman above BK, they offer a better customer service, and IMO better made jackets.
I would not give BK my money under any circumstances...
My size 42 has a bit less than 1" front drop.
Honestly i would not worry about FD on this model, it is really negligible, in wear you barely noticed it, it doesn't look or feel front droppy.
It won't penetrate the topcoat.
LW uses a resin top coat, verry little makes it through.
I own a LW jacket that was slathered in some sort of product by the previous owner and it doesn't make the jacket nicer to wear, it made it greasy and waxy, if anything it feels worst than my LW that are...
The pit to pit is HUGE, they are basically a giant leather bag, here are the measurements of my size 42:
Pit to pit: 29”
Back length: 27”
Front length: 22.5”
Bottom hem: 20”
Shoulders: 21”
Arms length:23”
They are designed to take layers. I don't think you should downsize to a smaller size...
