I handled a few of these "1.8mm" jackets back when they where released, they where not 1.8mm thick.
It was a marketing thing, not an accurate measurement...
To me it looks like it is inspired by french hunting jackets.
This could be a one off custom, but that collar is a hunting style to me.
I googled "french hunting jacket" and this came up...
To me this is a "compromise fit" it's good enough that i would wear it, but it isn't "perfect".
I think the sleeves being slightly long and wide make the jacket appear slightly oversized on you, but not to the point of looking wrong.
The thing is the attraction of Field Leathers is the quality of the stitching that Greg can achieve.
It's one of the main points of the Murowski videos...
Greg has reached that level working for Aero for a decade, it's not a skill you gain overnight.
I doubt he can easily find someone who can...
Doesn't that say CCCP in the top? Also i see cyrillic in the bottom right no?
My guess would be made in Russia in the 70s-80s. We have a few russian members that might be able to give you more info.
You weren't even a member when the FL brand launched...
It happened on TFL, the entire early production was sold to TFL members, early test jackets where flogged by Greg in the classifieds for 200 GBP or less to stay afloat.
He entirely relied on TFL to get started, he offered people who posted...
I think this was always the plan, it's just the platform that changed.
In the beginning he saw people like Red devil, Marc and I as low level influencers on the only "social media platform" he had traction on, TFL.
After the Murawski video he moved from being only known on TFL to being known...
Honestly i am not surprised...
I was supposed to get a jacket in 2021, all info given in February 2021, mock up promised by the 12th of march 2021.
I sent vintage buttons to be used to Greg, it all sounded great.
The first Carl Murawski video came out and suddenly Greg lost all interrest in...
There is no such thing as a sheepskin motorcycle jacket, Lewis and Addict are fashion jackets, not MC jackets.
I felt naked the few times i rode in my Lewis Leathers.
25.5" body length with 23.5" sleeves?
This makes no sens...
The sleeves would reach my elbows if i tried to wear that!
Edit: is it me or is the ticket pocket flap completely not symetrical?
I'm counting 4 more stitches on the left side of the snap than on the right side of the snap, so...
I have had to replace a few snaps on vintage jackets, as Navetsea says having to replace a hidden snap would be more complicated as you would have to open the lapels to reach it.
Yep, to me lapel snaps are the lower ones, collar snaps are the upper ones.
I like lapel snaps as they look good and are functional, i don't like collar snaps as i find them useless and unsightly.
if it was me i would go for these :
Either doing them visibly like the picture or invisibly...
Personally i like lapel snaps, i have jackets that have no snaps (Trojan for example) and i find that without lapel snaps the lapels end up all over when worn unzipped.
On the other hand i have never found the collar snaps useful at all, even on a bike.
I never snap them even on jackets that...
The dream:
Real life:
To me this jacket is the equivalent of a Neo trench coat, the fact that one dude pulled it off on screen doesn't mean everybody else can...
IMO it's all wrong...
I would not wear a jacket with that much overhang as i think it looks bad.
It's nothing to do with sizing, it's just the shape of that jacket that is wrong on you.
IMO there is nothing you can do to fix it and no amount of break in will make it fit better.
I would sell it...
Yep, you did something that removed the top coat.
It will most likely never be the same again unforturtunately.
Stop playing with it you will only make it worst.
