Part of the appeal of Gustin straights for me is that that are fairly slim in the top block and thigh without being skinny, but then fall straight down for an 8 to 8.5” opening (in size 32), which is just wide enough to fit over my engineer boots.
I’m eyeing a pair of IH461s for a similar cut...
it is a good deal. I paid $200 for mine in the summer and was able to sell it for the same price used a year later.
That said, the Ashby has those silly brass buttons and rayon sleeve lining that leave your arms covered in sweat. Beaufort or Bedale are really the ones to go with. Border on...
So it’s not leather but still a good deal on a Barbour Ashby.
Note that I sold my Ashby for a ‘vintage’ Beaufort. Didn’t like the buttons or the sleeve lining on the Ashby.

For more pronounced, high contrast, fading - add additional starch to your jeans.
Hit the key areas with a little spray starch. Don’t iron it in, just let it dry naturally. You can even pinch in the creases by hand. It also acts as a deodorizer. The jeans will be stiff and scratchy in the area...
Some really good advice in this thread (guess we should have moved the discus to a denim thread. Oops!)
I’ll just add that denim weight doesn’t directly correlate the stiffness or softness. The scratchiest most uncomfortable jeans I have owned were Unbranded 13oz. The softest and most...
good deal! Seems like a good way to check out the fit.
Yep, I hope these are wearable. I’ve owned starchy and stiff heavy denim that was a chore and some that was loser weave and much softer.

I’ve owned 20+ pairs of Gustin straights over the past 10yrs, so obviously that’s my go-to. But I’ll say N&F’s Weird Guy fits well and Ciano Farmer’s Miner cut is as good as it gets.
Gustin is true to size and provide a good size chart with all measurements. Even though they use the same factory in SF, the cuts are different to Tellason so you can’t assume you’ll be the same in both. I like the straight leg fit for their jeans and chinos. The only thing I’d change is the...
Tellason do great stuff, but for jeans I think Gustin is a better option (made in the same factory but selling for a lot less due to the crowd funding model). They are also local to you, but don’t have a storefront.
Milan is amazing. Though the fit of my SB didn’t work out and I returned it...
