Some say burgundy leather can be worn with black shoes/ boots when brown cannot.
If you were getting a second jacket in your rotation I’d say go for it, but if this is a ‘one and only’ brown jacket then you might do better with a more neutral brown.

JL have a medium and dark brown 3.5oz CXL HH and both medium and dark brown CXL steer 3.75-4oz due in next month. I’m torn between the two hides, so the color may decide it for me.
Greg is making me a stripped-down Manhattan- no epaulettes, no belt and no D pocket. Should be done in about a month, with luck.

If you want a good looking, trim jacket (not historical accuracy type stuff) then I think the Helikon-Tex sateen will be good. I wear their slimish fatigue pants to work every day.
what’s the weight of that leather? It looks stunning! French cyclist makes me think of a Harrington jacket with race stripes or something but the Ostmann is very cool, so I’m sure it will be something special.

Thanks man. Yeh, I won’t ever speak badly of these ‘starter jackets’ and I will miss this one, but the JL will definitely be an upgrade. I may even opt for the same cordovan cxl, but with the features and fit that it deserves.
Moving this one out to make way for a JL. Took pics for the listing but decided to give it a final wear while I run out to the shops to get some cat food.
It might just be bad luck and at least they are repairing it, but you don’t hear about this sorta thing happening with Aero, Vanson or Schott.
