Gustin Jeans Selvage Denim made in SF

I think Stephen Powell said the Grey Silks sold out in around 6 minutes. I did manage to snag a pair. :) I have a question for those of you who have tried on the Slim and Straight cuts. I have a pair in 33 Straight and 32 Straight. I like how the 33 Straight fit from about halfway between...

Gustin Jeans Selvage Denim made in SF

Sean, I know what you're talking about. I thought no way would skinny jeans be a good fit, so I went with the Gustin Straight fit. I think the next time there is a Grab Bag with my size, I'm going to try a Slim fit. Oh, and I have found that if you do a cold wash, the inseam and waist...

Feet Up! The Work Boot Thread

The funny thing about this recent group of posts is that rubbing Obenauf's on your hands is probably better for your skin than Oil Of Olay. :D I'm thinking Max won't be around here very long.

Schott 641 horsehide fit & size?

I think it looks great. The sleeves look okay. It wouldn't hurt if they were longer, but the only way to fix that would be to go custom. I have the exact same problem with sleeve length, so I pretty much live with it.

    Sewing WWII patches on jackets

A trick used to put patches on leather is to use rubber cement to hold the patch in place. The cement won't affect the leather, and if any eventually peeks out it can just be rubbed off. As others stated, it is almost impossible to hold a patch on any other way. I'm not saying to attempt this...

Schott 641 horsehide fit & size?

On my 42 the sleeves are a little under 24", and there is a some wrinkling, so originally it was probably at least 24".

Schott 641 horsehide fit & size?

I have a 641HH, but I'm only 5'10" and about 155, so I can't tell you what size you'd need. I have a 42, but should probably have a 40. Don't listen to Schott and their "size up" recommendations. I would do as Monitor states and compare the measurements of a well-fitting jacket to the 641HH...

Gustin Jeans Selvage Denim made in SF

Mr. P, Welcome to the Lounge! I recognize you from a certain other forum with plenty of Gustin fans! The fit looks good. I can't wait to see how some of the Gustin denims fade over time. I hope you keep updating the Pinterest post. Andy B.

Feet Up! The Work Boot Thread

I have a pair of White's Packers and I would say they have the most pronounced arch of the White's line. It took a few weeks until they felt comfortable and now they are one of my favorites. Andy B.

Gustin Jeans Selvage Denim made in SF

You have a problem with the milk man?! :D It sounded like they didn't have the chore coat design finalized, so I'm still waiting to see what it ends up like. I think the Gustin team values feedback a lot, so I'm sure they will make some adjustments to it. But on another note, I managed to...

Gustin Jeans Selvage Denim made in SF

Well the BlackXBlack got funded. YEAH!!!!!!! I was so happy I backed the Double Dip Indigo shirt. I saw a bunch of other denims were released this afternoon and the Pimas already ended.

Gustin Jeans Selvage Denim made in SF

The BlackXBlack campaign is up to 80% with 5 days to go. I am feeling a little better about it. I really hope these get funded. If they do, I'm thinking of backing the Double Dip Indigo shirt. Folks are saying they are on the slim side, so a medium seems pretty close to my size. A small...

Gustin Jeans Selvage Denim made in SF

Have there been may that don't make the goal? I was really looking for a pair of black jeans, and I'm having some doubts the BlackXBlack will meet the goal. I've never followed one of the campaigns, so maybe some of them move a little slower than others and this is normal.

Gustin Jeans Selvage Denim made in SF

Do any of you know if any of the jeans didn't make the funding amount, and if they didn't, what happens? Also, I saw way back in the beginning guys were quoting they were xx/100 of an offering. Is the number of jeans in each campaign posted somewhere?

Gustin Jeans Selvage Denim made in SF

Not to go too off track, but I picked up several pairs of the UB 21oz, and the first pair I wore for 31 days straight before washing them. No other pants for the entire month. I feel confident now that with several pairs between the UBs and hopefully some Gustins, I can probably wear jeans...

Ultra intense/heavy/thick new leather jacket - how to break in?

That jacket is beautiful! But I can tell by looking at it, it will take a long time to break-in. It looks exactly like the leather used to make rough-out Brogans that I used to wear for U.S. Civil War reenacting, and just as thick. Your grandchildren will be wearing that jacket, and it might...

    White's Semi-dress Boots..

Kyle, Those look beautiful! And plenty of opportunities to wear them in snow in the Philly area this year. :)

Gustin Jeans Selvage Denim made in SF

So Sloan convinced me to enter the world of raw denim with some 21oz Unbranded jeans back around Christmas, and now I followed him over here to try some Gustin jeans. I backed the #99 BlackXBlack. I hope they meet the goal as I am looking forward to them. I have to post a story about Gustin...

Need help IDing this Perfecto style jacket

I think it looks a lot like a modified Excelled. If you look at the bottom right image in the second group of photos, it looks like the back section of the belt is just sewn onto the jacket, and the rear belt loops were added. I have a similar Excelled jacket, only I removed the two piece belt...
